Picked this up yesterday. Cleaned it, adjusted, the trigger, and installed the scope today. It is a Savage AXIS II precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. It is sporting a primary arms plx 6-30x56.

I will add 1 item to Armored farmer's list if I may. Auto's are harder/more time consuming to clean(to me) than break open shotguns. I really dread cleaning my Beretta 391's.

Perhaps something like a S&W Shield EZ in 9mm. They are available with or without a manual safety. They are designed for easier racking of the slide. My Dad looked at them when he turned 80, but did go with one.
I am glad that you bought this up. I have thought that this was suspect forensics for awhile now. I never understood how each firearm could have that much variation in the manufacturing process.

Federal did this what 5 or 6 years ago with shot shells. When they changed thr gold medal "maroon" colored hull to the white gold medal grands. The new hull were steel bases that were brass washed, They still considered them premium shells too.
