    USDOJ police response times

I live in a major city and the response time for Priority 1 calls I would bet averages 2-5 minutes. We had an active shooter in a mall about 7 blocks out of town. The time from the first 911 call to the shooter being put down was 4 minutes. That's a very fast response time. It's all relevant...

    Ammunition used by SLC police?

Officers are issued a Glock 17 or 19 and carry Speer Golt Dot 147 grn in them. The issue ammo for 45 is also the speer in 230 grn and I think the 40's get the 185 grn. Not positive about that one though.

Garriety Holster - Whats up with Mark?

You'll get your holster from Mark. You may not get it within his initial time estimate, but when it shows up, you will forget all about the wait. The one man shops have very volatile wait times.

Shirt-tucking IWB holsters... do they work?

Hey PCRCCW, that holster looks familiar :D . The belt clips seem to work as well either over or under the belt. Passed the holster on to another plain clothes det with a totally different body type than I have (he's 6'3" and around 155 lbs). I'll let you know what he says.

    Immunity when assisting LE

See my post on that other thread as well... I can assure you that the last thing anyone who comes up and spatters the pavement with the cranial contents of the dirtbag who has his hands around my neck has to worry about is getting blasted by me. We can just agree that our heads are in...

Dothan, Alabama LEOs are kids in candy store

Recovered stolen guns are IMMEDIATELY returned to the rightful owner after being processed for prints etc. I've personally called owners to a scene of a traffic stop to recover his guns. He had to wait for crime lab to process them, but then he was off. Keeping those for personal use is...

    Immunity when assisting LE

LEO Perspective I have very few posts on this forum, so I'll temper my response appropriately. First of all, I (as I assume most of you) see this happening only under the most dire (read "life or death) of circumstances, and rarely. I work in a fairly large metropolitan city, and our...

    NOT LEO BASHING

I really don't have any posts here, so I apologize if I'm out of line, but here goes. Like stated above, I find it hard to believe that someone called in a burglary in progress at an occupied house and it took an hour for the police to get there. When calls like that come in to our department...

Extra Precautions on Monday, May 1st?

The whole idea really offends me, but after being a first hand witness to several huge protests in my city, I'm not worried about any violence (any more than usual, that is)

bad situation.. dont know what to do

+1 to that above. I understand how you feel, but you talking to him with your CW isn't a good idea. Sounds like her sister needs a :cuss: as much as he does, but you can't shoulder the responsability all yourself. Don't put yourself in a tough situation. It may seem like it now, but in the...

Anyone know how to get the smell of CS out of a house?

I don't know what the weather is like there right now, but high heat will break down CS gas, if that's what they used. I don't remember exactly, but it's around 100 deg F.

Have you ever had a dream in which you can't shoot?

I've had most of the bad dreams mentioned above. Usually it's the 90 ton trigger pull followed by the ineffective and slow bullet. An interesting point is that they went away for a while after I was involved in a shooting. They came back, but to a much lesser extent, a few months later. They...
