    Higher pressure loads for 50AE

44 magnums and such have “Thompson only” loads, but I’ve never seen anything like that for 50AE. It‘ll be one heck of a fun rifle. I’m guessing your after higher velocity so range isn’t as limited?

454 the most versatile 45 caliber

The desert eagle isn’t the littlest thing on earth nor the lightest. Being the 454 has a coal of 1.745” much shorter than standard 2.26” mag length, an ar15 conversion could be built if desired as the eagle uses an ar style bolt so it’s possible, and last I checked the ar15 can handle 62k psi...

454 the most versatile 45 caliber

Since a little known semi auto named the Desert Eagle exists, it would be possible to chamber 454 in mag fed semi auto platforms. And if my memory serves me correctly, Ruger makes or made a 10/22 style 44 mag rifle. I‘d say 454 is the most versatile 45 being it can be weakly or earth...

Reloading using budget friendly equipment versus higher end equipment.

There’s 5 shots with me jerking one shot at 250yds out of my 223 panda loaded on a lee challenger press and plain ole lee dies. Berger 55gr fbv, starline cases, cci 400, aa2520.

Witch barrel for my target 6.5CM?

You’ll be tickled pink if you use them. Only thing I’d ask them to do though besides the barrel, is pin the recoil lug to the reciever, it saves headache when installing another barrel. They done a prefit Brux barrel for my panda. Installed the barrel myself, it works, it competition level works.

    Rebarreling a Remington 700

I doubt it would, but being an adl, I wouldn’t cry about opening a little of the stock to make room. An adl deluxe I might think twice. From the sounds of it, a factory takeoff would be perfectly acceptable for the op. I’m just thinking the price difference overall, just throwing out a better...

Sweet spot for .22LR rifle value?

Try out a jewel or shilen trigger then tell me if yours are “crisp and smooth.” Ive had a mkii fv and step one was a rifle basix trigger before I ever shot it. The accutrigger was gritty, and had some slop. The rifle basix trigger was way better in form and function, not benchrest better, but...

Sweet spot for .22LR rifle value?

The Mossberg 144 is still my pick for used, but darn accurate with anything you put through it and reasonably priced. The CZ 457 at $600 is the best bang for the buck new. You have to remember our money isn’t very valuable now vs 25 years ago, so $600 ain’t that much. Savages and Rugers have...

    Rebarreling a Remington 700

Then the prefit criterion brand remage barrel is for you if you want darn good accuracy without going broke. I have a 40x and xp100 with them in 6br, mine are both mtu profile heavy barrels, but they have the skinny sporter profiles as well. You can try the crapshoot of a factory takeoff if...

Sweet spot for .22LR rifle value?

144lsa. Mine shoots $.10 stuff as good as rws, lapua, or eley financial embarrassment stuff. .4” at 75yds average. Since you’re not competing, darn near anything will work. If it hits bottle caps at 50yds, golf balls at 100yds, no tree rat will escape you.

    Factory CZ 457 mags

I have both, not an issue at all with either.

what would be everyones, go to rifle.

AR10 in 45 raptor. North America is covered. Africa may be irritating, but it’s doable.

American-made rifles in .22 long rifle?

If you want a single shot target rifle without the complete target rifle price, H&R model 12 is for you. It’s their copy of the win 52. Repeater that will shoot with and beat quite a few of the target rifles, Mossberg 144LSA. My 144 is the benchmark for 22 accuracy. The Remington 40x is...

If You Had To Pick ONE Rifle Powder...

So, is the H380 you used super dense and weaker per grain than regular H380? I know this is a typo, just had to have some fun, lol.

    6x45

Have an xp100 remage barrel in 6x45. And have a kimber super predator in 6x45. The xp has a 1:8 twist and handles 95gr hpbt no problem. I don’t know the twist on the kimber, but 90gr anything is its limit. Velocity ain’t great due to low case capacity, but it’ll take pigs and deer just fine.

If You Had To Pick ONE Rifle Powder...

IMR 4895. It’s the Unique of rifle powder. Not the best at anything, but works in everything. 3031 would be if 4895 didn’t exist.

    Barrel break in?

Barrel break in is like breaking in a new engine. All you’re doing is the final machining. Just do what the manufacturer says and have fun.

School me on custom bolt rifles

By having a custom rifle built, you get what you want, within reason of course. You really need to know what bullet and cartridge case you want to use and build around that. Depending on the cartridge you’re looking at, you may need a long action for the long bullets needed for 1000yd...

    6x45

Never played with it in an AR. Have an xp100 remage and kimber super predator chambered in 6x45. I wouldn’t hesitate having one. My two are not overly picky on powder. Any of the usual powders for heavy 223 work just fine here. It’s not a speed demon, but its not a slouch either.
