Powder for .45 colt in Rifle

I do something different but with the same effect. All my regular brass cases are loaded to standard pressure 45 Colt specs (i load a 255 LSWC on top of 12.9 gr of Blue Dot and in my 6.5” bbl Model 25-9 it gives me 1,000 fps.) As for my rifle ammo that is only for the rifle, I load them in...

    pepper ball "guns"..?

Granted I would want a firearm in stead of the pepper blaster. However in some locations in the world they’re not legal to own. I’m not sure if this is the case in this situation. If I were in a situation where no gun was available but that this thing was, well I’d use that first before it...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

It was a quest of epic proportions to find that deer haha. That one actually ran about 70 yards before piling up, the blood trail was almost 3 feet wide in the snow. But thats typically of lung shots that miss the heart.

    pepper ball "guns"..?

They can be effective if all the shots are aimed at the face/throat area, some manufacturers of theses pepper ball guns also make kinetic balls that are solid rubber and are strictly ment to induce pain. Here in NY the kinetic balls are legal but the pepper balls are not because the amount of...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

Been there, done that and I wear the T-shirt that says I’m the idiot who got rid of a good rifle. I like the 14/141 rifles, heck I like all pump action rifles lol.

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

I agree with you, is the 350 legend a good cartridge? Yes but only in it fills a niche in states that have cartridge length limitations. The 360 BH will be no different. Both cartridges 350Lgd and 360BH seem (so far) to be able duplicate some of what the 35 Remington can do but not all of it. In...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

I would agree the 35 Remington is not a long range cartridge but it does excel within its range limits over what a 30-30 can do. That perfect combination of a 200 gr bullet @ 2000fps producing just over 2,000ft lbs is a lethal combination. The 35 Whelen does all that and a heck of a lot more.

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

I didn’t know that about the CoreLokt. But it doesn’t surprise me that they screwed it up. And I whole heartedly agree with you a 200gr .358 at 2000-2500 is definitely magical. My go to for my 358 Winchester BLR is a 200 grain Hornady round nose with a full house load of Varget with MV of...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

The 180s are a good bullet, especially in the Contenders. I still load the 180s in my 35 Whelen 7600 carbine (peep sights) and they too shoot very accurate. I used to load the 220 Speer bullets until some dimwit at that company decided to discontinue them. I sighted my rifle in at 50 yards (see...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

No kidding! That 200 grain .358 CoreLokt is the best one ever made. The Hornady and Sierras aren’t bad, but there don’t hold a candle to that good old CL.

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

Its still alive, Remington made a few hundred or thousand Model 7600 Carbines in 35 Whelen in 2018/19. I was lucky enough to puck one up. I believe CVA still makes a single shot in that caliber. The 35 Whelen is on of my personal favorite calibers for an all around hunting cartridge. But...

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

Thats not necessarily the case, rifles like the Browning BLR, Henry Longranger, Savage 99 all can handle 55kpsi. But I take you are all probably referring to more traditional rifles like the Marlin 336 and Winchester 94?

Big and heavy or slow and fast

Just my two cents on the topic. I have been a member of both schools when it comes to speed or weight in a hunting cartridge. My personal choice for deer hunting in 35 cal is the 358 Winchester ( the 200gr Power Point does a marvelous job for factory fodder). In 30 cal I like my 30-338 wildcat.

    360 BuckHammer from Remington?

Hi everyone I’m new here. Just my two cents on the 360 Buckhammer. It seems to be a modernized version of the ancient wildcat 35-30wcf (a 30-30 opened up to .358 diameter) but shortened to meet state requirements. It will be interesting for the fact that its a rimmed cartridge so headspacing...
