    *BREAKING* ATF redefines firearm "transfer"

Whoops, nevermind. Sensationalist reporting. New link: http://www.atf.gov/regulations-rulings/rulings/atf-rulings/atf-ruling-2010-1.pdf

Caspian 1911 frame "in the white"

What is meant by the phrase "in the white" listed for caspian 1911 frames? I assume it requires bluing or parkerizing? Does it also require hardening or is that already done?

Full Size Revolver: .357 or .44?

I don't consider myself recoil sensitive, but my 44 magnum kicks my butt. It hurt the first few times I shot it. I am making myself get used to it, but it is right out for a home defense gun at this point.

    Why no Blued S&W Revolvers?

Look for a gently used 586. It's just a blued 686. I found a beautiful like new one at a pawn shop last month and kick myself for passing it up at $350 because I had never heard of a 586. When I went back it was gone. Like this http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=270445

    Price check: S&W model 65 3inch

Very good condition model 65. Apparently a police trade-in. Minimal wear. What would you pay?

Baby Eagle or CZ 75 P-01 in 9mm?

Look at EAA Witness as well. It's a CZ clone. They have polymer versions but go for the all steel version with wonder finish. I've got a 10mm compact witness and it's great.

experts on SKS and AK rifles

Cheesybacon $300 is about as low as I've seen for a romanian wasr. The SKS is more generally more accurate. I had a WASR-10 that was too short for my liking (5'10") but I got a SAR-1 not long ago that feels a little better. May be all in my mind since I didn't actually compare lengths or...

    Shooting Ranges in Houston

My favorite right now is Marksman Indoor Range. http://www.packing.org/range/texas/range.php?range=1104 Single entry fee for as many guns as you want. Surprisingly nice employees especially after Clear Creek Gun Range and the range on 2351, which insists on inspecting each gun every time I...
