    Blood Work: Clint Eastwood

I greatly enjoyed Blood Work. Seems to me that Clint Eastwood is evolving into a real actor in his senior years. I notice when someone in a movie handles a gun correctly, but unless it's really bad, I tend not to notice much when they don't. I did notice him firing a shot into a stack of...

    Insert a caption....

My first thought was of a scene from Blazing Saddles. "Give wallet or Chinaman die!"

    Best gun movies?

Actually, I laugh my fundament off every time I watch City Heat, with Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds. The shootout in the garage, where they alternate drawing guns with longer and longer barrels? Priceless. :D I really dislike Steven Seagal, but his movies often have very authentic use...

Done gun movies- gotta gun song?

Today's trivia question: Who had "... a .45 just to keep me alive, and seven bullets on my side"?

The UN, Gun control and Death

I attended a conference where Richard Marcinko (the Rogue Warrior) spoke. He said we should run the UN out of the US and use the empty buildings to make money. He got a nice round of applause for the suggestion.

Done gun movies- gotta gun song?

Probably the best are those already mentioned, Big Iron and Don't Take Your Guns to Town, but there are a couple that refer to guns that haven't been menioned - Seven Spanish Angels, by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson ("She reached down and picked the gun up that lay smoking in his hand...")...

    Which one are you? (funny)

The liberal in this story is really an imposter, or at least a very wishy-washy, luke-warm liberal. He never once considered giving that poor, underprivileged victim of capitalism - who had only a knife - his expensive gun.

PICS OF Arms cache discovered IN AZ

As much as I might think a flame-thrower would make a great toy, I wouldn't want to actually try to use one. I've seen the movies. The guy with the flame-thrower is doomed; he'll be a human Presto log before the scene ends. I think I see some nice Mausers in the pile, though.

    Molon labe

I find it interesting to consider one of the battle standards used by the Texans during their fight for independence against Santa Anna. The Texans had been given a cannon to protect themselves from Indians. During the early part of the Texas revolution, a Mexican officer demanded that the...

    Blood Work

"Thirty-eight caliber slug" Eastwood's character referred to a .38 slug from his gun. That could, of course, refer to the ammo he used or the actual caliber designation of his revolver; it could even be acknowledgement that a .38 and a .357 are actually the same caliber.
