    Armalite vs. DPMS AR-10 Mag

Hello High Roaders..... I have a question for those of you with more knowledge than me. I am considering an Armalite AR-10 or the DPMS version of the same. I have heard there are quirks with the magazines, in that one will work in the other, but not vice versa. Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks.

Shooting related name for new puppy.

We had a Lab named Gunner a few years back, but lost him. So, how about Gunner, or maybe Gunny for a female? No disrespect intended to all the Gunnies out there. You have earned the respect that Title deserves!!!

    Where to move?

That last post was to address Morrell's question. I haven't figured out how to "quote", at least not yet. :banghead:

    Where to move?

I can only speak for Wyoming, but it depends on what and WHY you would consider something important to avoid. For me, there is no way in hell that I would live in Rawlins unless it was the absolutely ONLY way I could stay in Wyoming. However, I know many folks that live there and you couldn't...

    The wife is a sweety!

VERY nice, now I can give my wife some gift idea's. You are indeed a lucky man. My wife also shoots, hunts, competes, and tolerates my "addiction" as she calls it. She has her own guns, both for hunting as well as self defense, and regularly CCW's. Our "trial-by-fire" was out shooting Prairie...

    Per capita Carry Permits?

As a CCW Instructor, I'm trying hard to increase our numbers In Wyoming and Utah Non-Resident Permits as well. :D

    Where to move?

Wyoming has NO State Income Tax, low taxes in general, 2nd only in population density to Alaska. VERY gun freindly as well as FREEDOM friendly in general. The weather can be a bit rough, but hey, that keeps the "other kind" of folks away. We fought the BATF in Federal Court over background...

How did you learn about THR?

Don't remember exactly how I "discovered" The High Road. I "think" a friend told me about it, but that WAS a few years ago. Why do I keep coming back? Several actually. One is the open Forum and large amount of information discussed covering many topics that are kept on point to gun or...

    Pawnshop crawling

Some other PS deal's that I've seen recently...... A Remmy 870 Wingmaster, the real pretty one, with both slug and smoothbore barrels, and choke set. Asking price, $325, and it was in PERFECT condition. I hesitated because it was a .20 gauge. I hemmed and hawed, and when I pulled my head out of...

    Pawnshop crawling

Pawn Shop cruising is like buying a used car. KNOW what you are looking at and don't be afraid to walk away. Having said that, I have bought a LOT of stuff over the years at PS's. Rarely have I ever felt I got jammed, unlike many new purchases at "actual firearm dealers". ANYTHING new will...

    gun safety material for homeschoolers

Eddie Eagle would be my first thought. Although your State Hunter's Education Course might be a good idea as well. Firearm safety is the first thing that Hunter's Ed teaches. I don't know how old your kids are, but consider a Basic Pistol Course from an NRA Instructor. Again, basic safety...

May be wrong place but gotta ask What U would Do.

"He make his living buying and selling guns to anyone with the money." You are making a potentially dangerous assumption here. Do you KNOW this, as 100% FACT? Does he have an FFL? If the former is yes, and the latter is NO, then there is a problem. The fact that you posted this...

What do you need to reach a "comfortable completion" to your collection?

Hmmmmmmm. Well, the one thing that REALLY jumps out is a Barrett .50 BMG. I've been drooling for one of those bad boys for a long, long time. Although, I do know where one is collecting dust............:D Problem is, HOW do I "allocate" $4K-ish, to begin with, without the wife realizing...

If you had to choose one...

I like that answer Tex, only problem for me would be my wife packs her own. Depending on what she's wearing any given day, that could be a .380, .38 Snub, or a 9mm. She has been eyeballing my PM-40 lately though, so we could have trouble brewing, and she's a pretty good shot, with ALL of them...

If you had to choose one...

Hey Carter, the rules of nature apply here too. For even on THR, you CANNOT please everyone, all the time, no matter what. It just ain't gonna happen buddy :D Even on a fairly straightforward, "simple" question, although simple depends on your perspective, you've got folks who want to break...

If you had to choose one...

P.S.- If I was going to hunker down and wait for judgement day in my own home, then it would be a .308 rifle, hands down. Pick a flavor, I like choices, and have them.

If you had to choose one...

While this is a common question, I never tire of the responses and opinions of folks. "To each his/her own" has never been more true. As a couple of posters have stated, my answer would depend a great deal on WHY I was "forced" to choose only one. And yes, it would most definately be a "forced"...

Secure gun safe for $1000 a reality?

Going out on a limb here, but..................... I bought a safe at Sam's Club a few years ago. I've been very happy with it. 1/4" steel plate for body and door, 1" chrome steel locking door pins, external hinges, @700lbs empty, and it cost around $700. Is it "the best"? Nope. Is it the most...

    Brady Campaign attacking Starbucks

I'm near Cheyenne, and have never had a problem with the local SB store here. Although this was reported in the Cheyenne paper, the incident occured in Casper, which is "about" 175 miles away. Casper has more than it's fair share of "liberals", so figure the odds of this happening there. In all...

Wyoming Firearms Freedom Act with Teeth

Many of the posters here make valid points. Living in Wyoming however, gives me a little different point of view. While personally, I'm NOT SURE of any absolute and/or significant changes. What I AM sure of however, is that as long as good men do nothing, evil WILL prevail. Now I'm not saying...
