Does anyone think the Ruger p series would have made a good choice for the Army?

Re: Ruger Wow! What a blast from the past! I still have my old P97 and still like it a lot. However, the world has moved on quite a bit. There are much better options these days.

    ruger p90 vs. p97 vs. p345

Ruger .45 Interesting that I should find this post. I just got back from the range after putting my P97 through its paces. I bought this gun several years ago because it was priced fairly and I wanted another .45 that wasn't a 1911. Before I fired it the first time I really wasn't...

    Winchester Wildcat?

Wildcat You can add me to the "YES" column. I have the basic wildcat sporter and I'm very happy with it. It has become my favorite rimfire rifle also. It is very light and extremely accurate. I put a cheap airgun scope and a sling on it. The rifle came with four magazines which I think...

    Norinco

Hmmmm Your post is a little hard to understand, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you have a chinese SKS...probably stuck in a ATI folding stock and topped with a scope. This is just my opinion, but the rifle is a good one but you paid more than you should have. 250 would...

Looking for info on a Savage .22

Savage Model 25 This rifle was manufactured from 1925 to 1929. I have one of these and like it a lot. It's fun for plinking and informal target shooting and whatever you'd use a .22 for. I've used mine quite a bit for squirrel hunting and it does very well. Mine shows quite a bit of...

    Savage 1914 22 pump

Good luck. I picked up a 1925 savage .22 pump several years ago and could find almost no information at all. It's a great little rifle. Very well made, extremely reliable and a lot of fun to play with. You might try a search on Savage Trombone Guns. It sounds goofy, but revealed some info.

    Ruger vs. SigArms

The Sig is a mighty fine weapon. However, I also have a Ruger P97 and I like it a lot. Your observations comparing the two are spot-on. The P97 has been extremely reliable and the accuracy and controllability are astonishing for a moderately priced pistol. I will occasionally carry my...
