This question is better asked in terms of who had what done. So here's the question: Who has had their 1911's worked on by a custom shop? And how was that experience? How long were the turn around times? What did you have done, and how much did you pay for it?
I'm looking on having my...
No. Still carry concealed. Still rock the black suit and white shirt. Still giving people long, hard looks if they're staring my way. Still quiet and otherwise vapid ( except when I emote online :) ). Don't think that'll change at all, simply because that's me...
So...... does that mean that you still have to do a CLEO sign-off on the form 4 if you're transferring to yourself after you dissolve your corporation (thereby making it a moot point to create a corporation, buy up on NFA items, and then dissolve it when you're "satisfied")? Or does that step...
Yeah, that's exactly what I intended from the start. Because I'm obviously so anti-gun. I agree, though. If I'm going to get replies like that from GEM, then just delete the thread. I don't care to read the emotionally-charged rhetoric from political hot-heads who think that examining all...
I appreciate the input. I guess being the original poster of the thread, I expected too much of people to provide input on the topic I had originally preferred to discuss. Oh well.
Southern Gobbler, thanks for your relevancy. I guess this is an open discussion more akin to Strageties and...
I already touched on that, but thanks anyway. An underlying, off-topic point is that the collegiate powers that be will analyze these same circumstances when discussing whether or not individuals should be allowed to have weapons on their facilities. They may feel that the infanticimal odds of...
So here's what I gather:
25,700-27,000 students comprising the student body. A decent sized faculty.
Now, basing what I learned from the Roanoke Times's exposure of the CCW list in VA, 133,000+ individuals of the state possess CHL's. I've heard that that equals roughly 1% (not sure of how...
Let's all deliver gift baskets and prayers of apologies to the victims. Because in times of shock and tragedy, free speech in discussion boards are to be indefinitely suspended.
I concur.
No particular reason other than I just haven't gotten around to it, yet. I'm not exactly a newbie to the general idealogies supporting holsters and sidearm retention, etc. I have several holsters for the SA 1911 (that I'll still carry once in a while). :)
Never bothered me at all.
Whenever I draw, it's with the index finger out over or around the trigger guard just like I would do with a holster that covers the trigger (note my index/trigger finger in the first picture). As well, I keep it cocked and locked -- the safety always engaged. And I...
USPf .45 - no holster. I wear all of my pants low on my hips (I prefer low-rise), and coordinate my waist size to ensure a perfect fit. All of my slacks's inner waistband areas have rubber gripping material sewn into them to prevent the shirt from hiking up (most all of Express's slacks have...
Finally! I thought I was the only one. Not only have I fired all of my weapons outdoors without hearing protection to see what to expect, but I've fired them indoors without hearing protection in an old abandoned house (that I believe the Army uses to do CQB training) for that same factor...
Typically, I think misdemeanors (which includes careless and reckless), don't have much say in your CCW status provided it wasn't a violent offense. But that's just my opinion.
