    Productive day

I love my Dillon 550. I loaded 200 rounds of 9mm and 1,229 rounds of 223. I load the 9mm on my Lee classic turret and the 223 on my 550. I actually love both presses but the 550 sure makes quick work of 1,200 rounds.

    Dang scale

I have a Pact BBKII digital scale I have been using for five years and it has been a good scale. Well I went down to do some reloading tonight and the scale won't zero. I guess I'll stop on the way home tomorrow and see what a RCBS beam scale cost local.

    Montana Gold Bullets

Has anybody used them. I am out of .357 bullets and was thinking of getting some, $89 per 1K delivered didn't sound bad. Also it said shipped to a business, can you have them shipped to the house for free?

    sorting brass

I have a five gallon bucket full of mixed brass. I sorted for a couple of hours the other day and 2 hours today and have about an hour left. I will never let it get backed up that bad again. Good news is it's about 40% 45 auto brass. Most of it is range pick up and not what I shot.

    Great day at the range

Went to the club range to shoot the AR's with a buddy. We heard a bunch of shooting over at the pistol bays. It ended up being Ken Hackathorn having a private 1911 training course. After they were done and everybody picked up what brass they wanted and left my buddy and I went over to see if...

    Shock at Walmart

I knew all of the Walmarts by me have guns and reloading supplies so that is not a big deal. I went into the Walmart near my house to buy drink mix, Crystal Lite type of mix. I always go to sporting goods. They went from two gun cases to four gun cases and they are selling AR's now. Now that was...

    First loads on the 550.

I loaded 200 rounds of 223 on the 550 today. I took my Lee dies out of the classic turret. I am using cases that have already been cleaned, sized, trimmed, chamfered and the primer pockets swagged. I left the sizing die out. Using the Dillon powder set up. Using the Lee seating die and FCD. The...

    550 is here

My 550 came in today with a 223 conversion kit. I mounted it to the bench and started to put it together. The directions were very good I thought. I had a little trouble with the shell plate. I tried to adjust it without a case. I put a case in a turned it half way between station 1 and 2...

    It's about time.

I know this will make some of you happy. :D I ordered a Dillon 550 today. The classic turret isn't going anywhere, I just wanted to speed a couple of calibers up a little. That is all. Carry on.:D

    Free brass

I thought that would get you to look. :D I went to the range today with my SIL, his dad and brother. Three guys came while we were there and started shooting next to me. Got to talking to them and they asked me if I reload. Of course I said yes. They said they don't reload and asked me if I...

    Thumb Print

Just saw on the news that you need to give a thumb print to buy ammo in California now. I'm sure it will spread. One more good reason to reload.

    Lee turret holders

I have seen a lot of new Lee classic turret users and have seen people ask about something to put the spare turrets in. Well I grabbed a turret and went to the hardware store and this is what I came up with. Hope it helps somebody else that wants to keep them off the bench. All of the fittings...

    What do you think

OK we all know there aren't any more small rifle primers to be found. I was wondering what you think about using small mag pistol primers for rifle since they are hotter than regular pistol. I wasn't planning on doing it because I have SR primers to last a while but if times got bad what do you...

    Second cast

I cast for the second time Saturday and everything went so much better then the first time thanks to a lot of suggestions. I turned the pot up to around 800 degrees and added 24" of 95/5 solder. I left the end of the mold in the melt long enough to heat up. The first two that I cast I threw back...

    First cast.

I cast my first bullets today. It started out a little rough. I think I got the hang of it after the mold heated up and I started to let them cool a little longer before I opened the mold. It was a lot of fun and I sure learned a lot. It will definitely let me shoot a lot cheaper. All of...

    223 tracers

I'm getting some 223 tracer bullets real cheap. Most of them won't light and I don't want them to light, I'm just looking for cheap plinking ammo. Does anybody know how to remove or disable the tracer compound? Rusty

    Pro 2000

There is a RCBS rep that has just started posting on TFL. I asked about an auto indexing Pro 2000 and this is the reply. I thought a lot of you would find this interesting. Rusty

    38/357

I have been reloading for a while but am just starting to reload for revolver. My question is with using plated bullets. I have always heard that you want to have a good crimp for revolver to keep the bullet in place do to the recoil. So what about a plated bullet not having a canalure to crimp...

    Gun SHow

Went to a gun show in Athens Ohio today. I can't believe the prices on everything. I didn't see any deals today, or for that fact the last couple of gun shows I went to. Rusty
