Uberti has changed their color case hardening process

Has anyone else noticed this? Bought a Walker today with Pietta-esque deep blue colors. Also noticed it on the Dragoons at the Hamburg, PA Cabelas in December. I like it a lot.

    ROA Loading Lever Rattles

Do all ROA loading levers rattle? My lever doesn't lock up well at the front, where it latches onto the barrel stud. There is a lot of up and down play. If I pinch it tight at that point, with my fingers, the lever no longer rattles when I shake the gun up and down. The lever seems to be about...

    Cold Steel Leatherneck SF

I recently ordered one of these. It is essentially a KA-BAR with a wide tang and a full flat grind. The steel is SK-5 carbon. The blade is .188" thick. A guy on youtube tried to baton his Leatherneck through some very hard wood and a nasty knot. The knife didn't survive, but the edge is rather...

    Help! I can't stop stripping!

Okay, I went and stripped another knife. Yet another KA-BAR. A 1211. I can't stop squirting Jasco Paint Remover at my knives ... And watching that coating fall away like the black veil of sin from a repentant heathen. I think I may have a problem.

    New KA-BAR Mark 1

Here's my new KA-BAR Mark 1 Navy knife. First thing I did was strip the black coating with Jasco paint stripper. I like it much better now. It locks nicely into my small hand. If you have large hands, you may find that your hand rides on the pommel.

    Uberti 1858 Remington Cylinders

Will a new Uberti 1858 Remington .44 cylinder fit an old Uberti gun from the 70s?

    I need some new nipples

I can't find Treso nipples for Pietta Remingtons anywhere. No one has them in stock. I found these stainless ones at Cabelas but don't know if they are any better than the stock ones. Has anyone here used them...

Pietta/Navy Arms Stainless Remington - Opinions?

I handled one of these (not a Navy Arms, but a Pietta/Traditions) at the local Gander Mountain and was impressed by the fit and finish -- better than the Uberti Remingtons I've seen. I'm a little worried about the steel though. I've read that Uberti's cap & ball stainless is about as soft as...

    Rogers & Spencer question

How do you remove the basepin/loading lever on a Rogers & Spencer? I assume you loosen one or both of those big screws in the frame, but how far should you turn them? I'm looking at a used Navy Arms R&S that I assume was made by Euroarms, but am not sure. I'd like to pull the basepin before I...
