    Cold steel sues CRKT.

Typical Lynn Thompson BS...anything for media hype. Just like years ago when he created all that drama by writing the article slamming how the karambit was the worst knife ever , etc....then shortly after CS released their karambit. Not a company that has ever impressed me. Even less impressed...

    D-2 for blades

I have been using a blade from D2 for 4+ years now , I made it , so I don't baby it , I use it for whatever needs cutting , cardboard , food , shingles , drywall , etc. Made from 1/8 D2 , HT by Paul Bos. Holds up fine , I love D2 , though I like CPM D2 a bit more.

    Knives from dad.....

Yes I do believe you are correct. Info I got from a Bladeforums member identifies the Barlow as " Hammer Brand " and dates between 1945 to 1955.

    Knives from dad.....

I like the Barlow as well...the one Case appears to be from 1920-1940 and the other from 1905-1920 ( red one with the nail pin ), just going by a brief comparison on the tang stamps.

    Knives from dad.....

Near as I can tell , it is a Western Camper S-901. Unsure of year. Walking thru a community yard sale last Saturday , lady had a handful of slipjoints , mostly really cheap ones that were pretty beat. This one looked worse for wear when I picked it up , she wanted $10 , then she pitched...

    Knives from dad.....

Dad dropped by this morning, he was doing some cleaning at his place and brought my middle son some old coins & watches that belonged to my grand-father. He also gave me these knives that all but 1 belonged to my grandfather. The one I am not so sure about as it appears to be stainless, not sure...

    Santa Baby

I know many people who buy knives and claim they are the best ever , yet they have never used them to cut open more than a piece of mail or perhaps a UPS package.... Others buy for the collection factor , to hope to make $$$ on a resell later.... then there are those that buy just for the...

That could be said for any of the custom makers out there as well. Buyers are aware of this , they buy what they want with their $$$.

When I saw what "Loveless shop" knives not even made by Loveless were bringing , nothing surprises me anymore. Was the knife sold overpriced ? Nope , cause it sold. If it didn't sell at an asking price , either it is over priced or the right buyers haven't seen it yet.

Years ago I worked at a gun shop here in the Vegas Valley ( Nevada Custom & Concealed Weapons) , this was before I was really into knives. We had at least 6-10 Mad Dog knives in stock at all times , until we did a show like SOF. After the first day of that show , every knife was sold. Nobody...

    Could someone ID this blade?

PS. I asked MERCOP last night , and he wasnt sure what the knife was , the image was taken by someone else ( Noah Walt of THurst Magazine I assume ).

    Could someone ID this blade?

BikerDoc , " Overly complicated application for sort of a simple neck knife." , having worn both a MERC harness and a neck knife carried in the standard neck knife carry , I will always choose the MERC harness as it keeps the knife put without sliding around on your chest like a basic loop does...

    Could someone ID this blade?

That could be a Ken Brock knife... George aka Mercop would know for sure. http://mercop.wordpress.com/ Ken Brock and Les George are working on a collab now that looks similar.

    15N20 and You

When I first started making knives, I used 15n20 to practice in , made a whole lot of thin small give-away knives...still have a few laying around the shop that I use to cut sandpaper with.
