I also do not care for wearing ear pro for hours on end hunting, and I don’t like (especially during rut when the bucks are moving) donning ear pro and then rushing a shot.

I have one 30 cal suppressor on a 308 bolt action hunting rifle.
That rig is zeroed with the suppressor on and with my hunting ammo and I would shoot it in the field or at the range with the suppressor on it.

Local store had HST. Bought some, and my pistols fed it when testing it out.
Went back and bought a few boxes and that’s what I use now.
But really, I’d be ok with about any modern self defense load that ran well in my pistols. Hydra Shok, Gold Dot, Critical Duty/Defense, etc.
Bergara, Savage, and Tikka come to mind as far as rifles. See a lot of happy Ruger American owners, too.
I’ve always liked Leupold for optics, and am well pleased with my 30 year Vari X II and newer VX Freedom Fire Dot.

My 1911’s have been great as far as reliability goes.
However, if my shooting buddy is firing them it’s almost a certainty that he will experience a stoppage.
Why? I have no idea. Maybe limp wrist, maybe he’s hitting the slide stop, maybe he’s pressing in on the slide stop on the ejection...
