I think the grip is very much improved by the Hogue Handall Jr. Makes a big difference in how the gun fits my hand and felt recoil. I got mine at Sportsman's Warehouse for $6.

Just over 200 rounds through mine. With a Hogue Handall Jr. it shoots softer than my XD9 service...or feels softer anyway. It is surprisingly accurate and easy to shoot for such a small pistol. I had 1 failure to feed in the first 50 rounds ... good to go after that...so far.
Yes...I was comparing the CCI550 primers used in the book with the FED200 primers I used...just wondering if there is a major difference between magnum primer brands. On another note, I did an experiment with a much lighter load keeping all things equal except the primers (FED100 or FED200) and...
Thanks much for the reply...I won't sweat it then (15 shots in the string). I just thought since the velocity I was getting was roughly 70 fps higher than expected, and the spread between min & max load (Sierra manual) is only 50 fps, then maybe there is something going on here that I'm not...
A while back I worked up an accurate load in my GP100 (4in. stainless). Started at the min and worked up (Sierra load manual). Here it is:
14.6 gr 2400
Sierra 158 gr. JHC
Rem cases (factory once fired)
Fed200 (small pistol magnum) primers
Positive Crimp, but not real heavy
The max...
Just got the 930 HS on gunbroker...$400. Decided against the combo (don't care for 28" barrel). I may add a 24" barrel later if I can find one. Next I need to buy the Choate mag extension...woohoo!!!
I am considering the Mossberg 930 for home defense (combo) and for use at IDPA side matches. I don't really care for the tactical sights on the 930 SPX and would like the gun to be a little more versatile...The 930 HD combo comes with two barrels and it's less costly than the SPX also. My...
I'm new at IDPA and I'm thinking of trying my revolver next time out...but I thought you needed to make major power factr (165). I was doing load development and trying for around 1050 fps with 158 gr LSWC. Can you shoot minor with revolver? (that would be cool)
Max for 2400 under a 158gr bullet
My Sierra manual lists the starting load for 2400 (158gr bullet JSP) at 14.0 gr. Max goes up to 15.0. That's with CCI 550 primers. I haven't shot any of my own .357 reloads yet but have a batch loaded from 14-15 grains at .2 gr increments. Plan on testing...
Spur...my Sierra manual has a good section on service rifle reloading and discusses the M1 specifically...recommends full length resizing. As others have posted, you will likely have issues chambering by only neck sizing. I full-length resize the Greek stuff for my M1 and haven't had a single...
Yes, you should clean this part...once you remove the gas cylinder tube, use a pistol cleaning rod to run some patches through. To see how to remove this part go to the link below....

SLV, I really enjoy reloading...almost as much as shooting. So if you think of it that way, and not worry about saving money ('cause you won't...you'll just shoot more), you may just be taking up another very enjoyable hobby. I started with "The ABCs of reloading" and then to this site (good...
