    S&W M&P 9mm VTAC ejecting "Funny"

Hi Folks, Just wanted to ask the collective firearms knowledge pool (also known as THR) and find out what I should do. I purchased one of the new S&W M&Ps in 9mm a few weeks ago and finally got around to shooting it yesterday at the range. Accuracy was fantastic, no reliability issues...

    S&W M&P replaceable backstraps

Hey Guys, I have a S&W M&P in both .45ACP as well as 9mm, great guns, love em. I bought one used, one brand new. The gun I bought used didn't have all of the inter-changeable backstraps when I bought it. So my question is this: Do any of you know where I could possibly find a replacement size...

    Humorous homemade gun posters

Grandma .357 Hey Nugilum, Just wanted to say I particularly enjoyed your last "poster" as that was originally posted on THR years ago by yours truly, and that's my Grandma holding my old Ruger SuperBlackhawk .357. I'm amazed that her photo is still floating around the internet, I'm sure...

    Steel Targets for Handgun

Five friends and I pooled our money together and bought 6 Autopoppers from MGM Targets.com - http://www.mgmtargets.com/products/product_page.php?cat=1 They don't have to be re-set, and I can attest to their durability. We shot them with everything from .22 to .45acp to 7.62x39. The only thing we...

Springfield M1A National Match Bedding Issues

Hello Everyone, I need some advice/ideas, here is the scenario: I just bought a "used" Springfield M1A National Match" that has had very few rounds through it, and only one owner. I know there has to be a very low round count, since I discovered this problem after firing 30 rounds through...

    Shotgun Choke Tube Question

Yeah I was thinking about that too. threads....grr I also debated about re-creating the brake itself with the choke tube all in one piece and that way I would have one less set of threads to worry bout.

    Shotgun Choke Tube Question

"I can't imagine that anyone can possibly machine a choke tube for less than you can buy one ($33)." I agree, but this is a customer and if they are willing to pay...I won't argue. Secondly, since that brake is a proprietary design, and only works with that specific choke tube he would be...

    Shotgun Choke Tube Question

416 was my best guess too, but since I've never machined one before I thought I should get an outside opinion. ;)

    Shotgun Choke Tube Question

Hey Folks, A customer of mine brought me a muzzle brake(basically a door breaching brake) for a Remington 1100/870. It attaches via an extended Improved Cylinder choke tube, with threads on the end. So, layout is this: choke tube screws into barrel, threads stick out of barrel, muzzle brake...

Bad Experience @ Unsupervised Shotgun Range

"It's a lot of responsibility. It is better than the alternative, but you cannot look at life the way you did before. Ignorance and folly may be bliss, but you no longer have that luxury." - Sam Thanks Sam, ain't that the freakin truth? Well said.

Bad Experience @ Unsupervised Shotgun Range

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, and enabling me to feel a little less sour about it. This is just a side note, but running into belligerent people like that really makes me glad that I CCW. This may have to be shuttled to a new post, but in my own experience it seems like ever...

Bad Experience @ Unsupervised Shotgun Range

    - "OP, this didn't happen to be Indian Creek did it?" - Merlinfire No, this was at one of the ODNR unsupervised trap ranges in NE Ohio. - "Wow, clay targets are 3-4 cents each. Even if he collected enough to make his effort worth it, he could have lost his life over 4 bucks." - BamAlmighty...

Bad Experience @ Unsupervised Shotgun Range

I turned in his license number, gave a description of the vehicle, and took a short video clip of the guy picking up clays off in the distance while everyone was standing around waiting for him to finish:rolleyes:.

Bad Experience @ Unsupervised Shotgun Range

Hello All, Just wanted to relate my experience this afternoon to the folks @ THR and see if I was justified in being upset. I apologize to the Mods in advance because I know I've seen a "Stupid things seen at the range" thread here before but everytime I run the search it doesn't seem to...

Initial Impressions: Tactical Solutions AR-22 Upper

Sweet rifle! Hey Justin, I know this post is old, but I wanted to post my experiences after purchasing one of these fine items from T.S. I did have some fit issues with my Bushmaster lower. However after much measuring with the calipers, and much scratching of heads, I discovered it wasn't the...

Stupid question of the week: What's "galling"?

galling Always happens to our stuff at work. Especially on male/female threaded pieces. We get around this by nickelplating the threads on one of the pieces so there is a different alloy on mating surfaces. Dang! too many innuendos in one description!
