    Charter Arms?

I just picked up a new Bulldog after searching for another option from either Smith or Taurus. I'll take it to the range this week to see how it does. I have a 1972 production Undercover that has been a solid piece for many years. Hopefully, the Bulldog will be similar.

    Experience with NAA .22 Mag?

I purchased one as a "date" ccw gun. Something I could carry in the early stages of dating a woman, before I had a feel for her views of CCW, that wouldn't cause alarm in case of unexpected physical contact. I rarely carry mine except for the above mentioned situations. It carries very easily...

    640 rubber grip suggestions

If your hands aren't too large, don't be afraid to try the Hogue Bantam. I find them as comfortable as the Monogrip, although the Monogrip is easier to shoot since I don't have small hands. All my carry snubs wear the Bantams, Monogrips on everything else. YMMV.

    Taurus Model 941 Ultra-Lite .22 Magnum Revolver

I started thinking the same thing after picking up an S&W 351PD which is the Smith version of the same gun. And as impressed as I am at what an overacheiver the 351 is, I just don't consider it viable for CC. I would probably pick it over a .32 ACP but that isn't really saying anything...

    Nagant Revolving Pistol, Surprisingly Good

OK thanks. I guess i haven't shot enough to hurt mine as it shoots and extracts Nagant ammo with no problem.

    Nagant Revolving Pistol, Surprisingly Good

Gunner, thats an interesting comment. Did your friend say exactly how going back to nagant ammo ruins the gun?

    Ultralight .38spl loads?

    So very true.

    S&W Model 60, 640, or 340 for Wife's Carry Gun?

I voted for the 640 for recoil reduction and the fact the hammer doesn't have to be bobbed. I have heard, but have not been able to confirm, that if you bob j-frame MIM hammers you risk unreliable ignition. It may just be another vicious Internet rumor but might be worth investigating FWIW.

One more question about my new snubbie

Ummm, my earlier model (late 70s) Charter Undercover definitely has a transfer bar. But then it doesn't rattle when I shake it either.

    Tyler T-Grip Service

Bob, I ordered a T-grip on 9/14/06 and it just arrived today. Give it another week and it will probably show. I was getting pretty impatient myself with much the same phone questions and answers you got. I get the impression its not their main line of work and they may just be doing it for...

    S&W 642 trigger

dave-o, If you think the 642 is stiff try a 351PD. After I shoot my 351PD the 642 is like butter. Of course that isn't what you were asking I'll bet. While both Wolff and Wilson(I think) make springs and spring kits for the j frames, I would personally get a good action job from a very...

    340PD Trigger Problem - I Think?

It would seem that the "offset" trigger is normal. ALL of my MIM, late-model J frames have offset triggers. Either its normal or I have some Js that need to go in for warranty repair...

    Smith 642 vs. 638 reliability???

Well obviously if you ever want to shoot single action, get the 638. If you plan to carry in a pocket exclusively and don't intend to clean the pocket or keep other stuff in the pocket besides the gun (bad idea) then get the 642. I have the 642 and love it. But sometimes I would like to shoot...

    Recommendations - .22 DA/DA wheelgun for training

Bill, I've never seen a 317 in 4", but they may have made them at some point in the past. Somebody with more knowledge than me will have to address that. My 317 gives the sensation of recoil and a tiny bit of muzzle lift when shooting CCI Maxi-mags. Both are very mild, but similar to a...

    Recommendations - .22 DA/DA wheelgun for training

I just bought an S&W 317 with 3" barrel a couple of weeks ago and the thing is a literal tack driver. Some have complained of heavy DA trigger pull on their 317s, but mine is actually lighter than my 642. Everyone that has shot it has been amazed at its weight, ease of use and accuracy. Its an...

    Charter Arms undercoverholster & speedloader?'s

J-frame holsters will work if they have a retention strap. The Undercover is slightly smaller than a J-frame. J-frame holsters that use friction to retain the gun will also work as long as the friction device can be adjusted like many high-end leather holsters or kydex types. I have never used...

    Charter Arms .38 "Undercover" Grips?

I've got a late 80s Undercover that has been a really great gun too. However, I have to agree with you on those stock wood handles, yuk! As I was carrying mine, I put the same grips that some of the more recent Undercovers have on mine. These have the third finger groove on the bottom of the...

    Nagant Revolving Pistol, Surprisingly Good

Hehe, I can pull it, I just don't like to do it! However, I haven't tried pulling quickly either, so I will give that one a try. Cool. I'll give the H&Rs a try too. Thanks

    Nagant Revolving Pistol, Surprisingly Good

Cosmo, Newbie to THR here. I've got a 1943 refurbished M1985 from the Izhevsk Arsenal. I've noticed the match grade Soviet ammo shoots very accurately, although when I tried 32 S&W Long the results were disappointing. I haven't tried the 32 H&R Mag yet. So I'm curious, how did the 32 H&R...
