New Marlin 981T .22 Bolt Action

So far, I love it! The high capacity is very nice. Load it up and it's good for 17 shots. The targets shown were only two of a bunch. I put roughly 500 through the gun at two sessions this past weekend, so I think I have it pretty well sighted, as well as broken in! Plus the bolt gives you...

    <$100 Decent Spotting Scope?

Even though it's a little over my budget @ $120, I am considering this Barska 20-60x60 scope: http://www.shopbarska.com/Spotting_Scopes-BARSKA_20_60x60_WP_BLACKHAWK_Angled_Spotter.html

    <$100 Decent Spotting Scope?

Can anyone suggest a decent quality spotting scope for under $100? I realize it's not going to be the best. I just need something decent for spotting 25-100 yards. Most of the scopes I have looked at in shops have been $200+, but I am just not in the position to spend that much on a scope...

New Marlin 981T .22 Bolt Action

Last week, I finally decided on a bolt action .22 and went with the Marlin 981T. It has a composite/polymer stock and great looking black anodized barrel. The feedtube will hold up to 17 .22 longs. I added on a cheap Bushnell scope and took it to the range this last weekend and sighted it in...

    Jammed Bolt on Mosin-Nagant M44

Thanks for all of the good info and tips! OK, so I first need to tap the bolt loose so I can get the spent case out. Then I need to really get in there and clean it well (again). I'll pick up a bore brush so I can clean that out, as well. When I stripped it the first time, for the...

    Jammed Bolt on Mosin-Nagant M44

After having my MN M44 for over three years, I finally got the chance to take it out for the first time. When I bought it, it was packed in cosmoline, so I completely stripped down the gun, cleaned, oiled and put it back together. Since then, I have taken it out every few months to check and...

Ruger LCP - reports of broken trigger mechanism - Warning to LCP owners!

Wondering this myself. I JUST picked one up on Friday. Although, I did notice that this thread was last responded to in 2008, so I am hoping these problems have been worked out. I did, however, notice that my new LCP does NOT have the diamond mark behind the hammer. I went back to the Ruger...

    Henry Acu-Bolt .22

Thanks for all of the suggestions and great advice! I think I am leaning towards the Marlin for the multi-round capability over the Henry.

    Henry Acu-Bolt .22

I was actually just looking at the Marlin 980S right before I came back over here. I assume the 981 is in the same series? Looks like the Marlin might be a better choice.

    Henry Acu-Bolt .22

Hey guys, I have been away from the forum for a long time (new job, new house, life turned upside down, you know!) and lately I have been wanting to buy a bolt action .22 similar to what my father has had since he was a kid. The Henry Acu-Bolt looks like the rifle for me...

    Glock Pics

Actually, I am a past Glock owner. Great gun, it just did'nt fit me at the time. Tastes change and I might even have one find it's way back into my collection some day. Not knocking them at all, I was just making an observation.

    Glock Pics

You were reading my mind. I was thinking "What is the point to a Glock picture thread? They all look the same!" I mean, I am a solid XD fan, I own two, but posting pictures of the same XD models over and over again would be boring after the first post.

1911 As a First Carry Gun

I only have a full size 1911 and it's just too big for me to conceal. I would imagine somthing like a Kimber Ultra Carry II would be a good choice if you are set on a 1911 style gun for CCW.

How safe is to keep a pistol in your car?

Same here in Virginia. We have a lot of freedom, but when it comes to cars, they are a bit odd. WITHOUT a CCW, I can open carry loaded all day long. I can even walk into a bar, but when I get in the car I must unload it and place the gun in full view if an officer were to stop me and walk up...

I swear I'm going to vomit on my cat if...

I have both the compact and sub-compact XD9s and I LOVE them. Had a Glock and sold it. It was a fine gun, but my XD's are just better for me. The sub is my daily carry gun. I feel naked without it.
