Pardon me for the late entry, but if discussing original 1911 mags, they were pinned....not welded. It wouldn't take much corrosion to compromise the peened pin heads and cause a failure of the floorplate.

Your list doesn't list THE BEST 'striker-fired' auto: the Walther P99. The P99 is very ergonomic, lightweight, has THE best trigger of the lot, is scary accurate and has 2nd strike capability.

Do any of you CCW/shoot an SD9/40 on a regular basis? If so, what are your opinions on the gun? I know S&W has 'discontinued' it....sorta...having 'resurrected' it in the form of the SD9/40VE, minus the Melonite coating and the Tritium front sight (IIRC, the sights are plastic, now).

I've owned and carried several Colt OACPs (SS and LtWt.), an SA Micro Compact Operator, an SA LtWt. Compact and a Glock G36. HANDS DOWN, my fav is the G36.

My first Kahr was a K9. Heavy, but an AWESOME handgun. My daughter has it, now.
