    My 3 inch 357 pics.

The 65 lady smith is one of my favorites. I can never find one though so I settled on a 2.25" model 66 a while back. I love the K Frames...

    Smallest grips for a K-Frame?

I have a 2.25" Smith 66 that has the large, 3 finger Uncle Mikes rubber grips on it. These grips are comfy but with the short barrel they look kind of odd and they wouldn't lend themselves to carrying this thing well. I like the pack this gun in the woods and sometimes in the winter time as...

    22/410 combo guns?

I know Springfield used to make the M6 "Survival" gun. I'm looking for something similar to that. This will be a hiking/small game gun, needs to be lightweight. Single shot is fine. Does anybody else make something like this?

    Durability of Ruger's blued finish?

I have never owned a 'blued' handgun before. Plenty of my long guns are, but for the most part I've had stainless or alloy revolvers, and my semi auto pistols have been treated with tennifer or something similar. I have found a killer deal on a 4" GP100 locally, but it's blued. This gun is...

    ruger sp101 or gp100?

I'm in your boat as well and have decided on a 4" GP100.

    38 spl

I generally won't shoot reloads unless I've rolled them myself. I don't expect anyone else to shoot my reloads either. I think you should just sell the brass (to me), and apply it toward reloading equipment for next time or more factory ammo. :)

    Rimfire accuracy...bolt vs. semi

Thanks for the info guys. I have narrowed it down to a Savage bolt gun with accu trigger. I'm trying to decide on calibers now. - 17HMR, while more expensive than than the others, is still a fairly inexpensive caliber in the grand scheme of firearms - 17HM2 is quite a bit cheaper, but much...

    Rimfire accuracy...bolt vs. semi

Bolt gun it is. I'm a big fan of them anyway. I know I need both eventually (17 and 22), but for now, I'm trying to get a gun built up to take prairie dog hunting with me in the spring. I have a nice Savage 10FP in 223 rem that is going to be my 'main' gun out there, but if I can get a few...

    Rimfire accuracy...bolt vs. semi

Thanks for the info. The savage I had was accurate, but I couldn't get the thing to stop jamming. I sold it to fund other projects anyway. You guys pretty much confirmed what I thought I was going to hear. I want to set up a cheaper rimfire for range plinking, some squirrel hunting and maybe...

    FFL refuses to handle transfers.

Highly unlikely Dicks will do it. Every one I've been to sells long guns only and they do not do transfers. They are just a general sporting goods store that happens to sell guns really. Good luck getting it sorted out!

    Rimfire accuracy...bolt vs. semi

I know for the most part a semi gun of the same quality as a bolt gun will be less accurate. A lot of this is shooter skill as well, but it's pretty much accepted that the bolt guns are more accurate. I want to buy a fun rimfire rifle and set it up as a target gun and maybe even some varmint...

New guy - Which cartridge to start with

I find 38 to be easiest to load. Straight wall cases, large enough to handle easily, brass lasts a long time and you retain all of it when shooting a revolver. Guns are generally able to shoot 357 loads which means you have less chance of blowing your gun up. You still need to be careful, but...

    Kahr Cw9

Paid $410 and carry mine almost every day. Been a good shooter and more reliable than my PM9 was.

    Brainwashed Parents, how to cope?

Put the gun IN the nightstand or somewhere out of view, loaded, cocked and locked, and tell them you lock it up from now on. 21 to purchase from an FFL dealer, 18 to own one (buying from a private seller). Some states even allow CCW at 18.

    Twenty Bore: General Purpose

I'm a firm believer in the 20 as well. I have a nice O/U I use for the clay range, and a set of Briley subgauge tubes for it. I find myself shooting the 20 ga tubes more and more. Same price, same relative performance and recoil is about half that of 12 (in my heavy range gun). Likewise, I...

    polymer guns...

I shoot Glocks well. I like the features and the way an XD feels, but I don't shoot my new XD45 as well as I did my G19. I don't have enough range time on it yet though. I don't know if it's me or the gun.

Looking for a nice O/U shotgun

The Ruger Red Label has plenty of documented problems with it. The 28ga guns seems to be reliable, but the more popular 12 and 20's have been hit and miss. Stick with a B gun...Browning or Beretta. I personally like the looks of Browning but the actions and shooting of a Beretta. I shoot a...

    Pattern too tight?

If a tight pattern with buckshot is so favorable, why don't you just shoot slugs? If nothing else, this thread has convinced me to go try different sizes and brands of buckshot to see how my 20" Cylinder barrel 500 shoots.
