What is the correct amount of crimp in thousands of inch?

Ok, I am sure I don't want to over crimp the cartridge but the drawing I am attaching comes from the Dillon 650 manual. Proper crimping is achieved in the bullet in the middle (#2) . To me it doesn't look like only the belling has been removed rather than I modest amount of crimping has instead...

What is the correct amount of crimp in thousands of inch?

I must confess that with my eyesight it is not always obvious to distinguish the absence of any belly on the case :-) . Could I rely on the instrument's reading instead?. Thanks again. Regards P.s. I use TC dies on both 9 and 45 but I run this last one thru a factory crimp also.

What is the correct amount of crimp in thousands of inch?

Hello there, What would you recommend as the correct amount of crimp for auto pistols (glock and 1911 norinco clone) to ensure proper feeding and correct pressures? Do calibers such 45 acp and 9x21mm differ in terms of recommended crimping? I got myself a neat Vernier Micrometer on E-bay for...

Feeding problem with last round on a Norinco A1

Thanks everybody to all for the precious advices. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to read them before going to the range this morning. I tried today even a shorter COL (1,1827) and 1,2362 COL while increasing also the charge by 0.2 grains. No sign of overs-pressure and things are a little...

Feeding problem with last round on a Norinco A1

Hello there, Today I experimented reloads with a shorter COL (see threads in http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=237049 ) to improve chambering issues. Things have got better but I would get last round feeding issues (round would chamber half-way at 45°) or, worse, it would get ejected...

    45 acp correct COL

Thanks to Steve and Ares 45 for the answers. I spent I little time before posting this reply on my dillon. I prepared a dummy load with a FMJ RN 226 bullet and I did bump it down to 31 mm (1.220 inches) instead of the 32 mm (1.259 inches) suggested by the powder manufacturer. Now the load...

    45 acp correct COL

Hello there, I own a Norinco 1911 (could not afford anything better than that here in Italy, very expensive for american imports :( ) and I have a few doubts concerning COL factor depending on the bullet I use. The first issue is that most american brands are not available so I have to stick...
