Either an SA80 with the reciever made from the same aerospace grade alloy used on the M16. Or a British version of the FAMAS/M16 series with totally different features. I say do what Sweden did, Adopt a US/Foreign designed weapon and change some external parts to it.

This monster of a machine gun should be brought back no matter how old it is, It is light in weight around 6ish kilos, Smaller than most GPMGs and has an ROF around 1,500RPM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. If it was to be brought back, It should be rebarreled to either 7.62/5.56 NATO.

A plan occured during the 1950s to convert existing .303 enfields to 7.62 NATO as an 'emergency weapon' incase the L1A1 SLR's are issued too late.

Have a feeling its a delayed blowback weapon, dosent seem to have gas ports but somthing that looks like exposed 'roller locking lugs' just above the trigger area. The point of this weapon is to increase the speed of changing the magazines during a battle.

Somthing with an M1911 type frame should be made a machine pistol like the Stechkin APS or the M93R.
