Anyone else have problems with 40 S&W round?

The accuracy problem isn't the cartridge, but the gun. Most 40's are made for combat/duty. Combat/duty guns usually have more generous tolerences, also some do not have full chamber support, like Glocks. I have a S&W performance center shorty forty that will drill ragged holes with most ammo at...

Is the Springfield XD gaining acceptance among LEO's?

Never had a problem in well over 3 thousand rounds of reloads, and various factory ammo in either of my XD's. One is a XDm 40 and the other a standard XD40. Accuracy has been excellent with both, the XDm being very accurate.

how good a shot are you?

When I used to shoot postal match's I could do a ragged hole at 50 feet slow timed and rapid most nights. Also could hit a gallon jug at 100yds with a S&W model 25 45acp 6 inch barrel, one hand very consistantly. I don't shoot anywhere as much as I used to, maybe 100-200 rounds a month max...

    New M&P 9mm failure.

Sorry for the rant, just SSOOO disappointed. I realize S&W is a good company and I have Always held them up there with Sig, HK and other top of the line guns. I was just really disappointed more than anything. I have ssoo many S&W 3rd gens and revolvers with thousands of rounds and no problems...

    24/7 OSS input.

I have the 9mm, love the gun, was finicky about accuracy at first, but then it became a tack driver. The only issue is the trigger, it has like a rough drag even in S/A mode. Its not the worse, but it may take time to get smooth.

    New M&P 9mm failure.

Just got off the phone with S&W, of course they said the M&P series has had ZERO problems, then I mentioned the Sherrifs dept in Cal. and they said it was only 1 batch that was isolated, Yet I keep reading more problems. They are sending a shipping label and they said about a 2 week turnaround...

    New M&P 9mm failure.

I posted this on other forums, I am not real happy. I bought a new M&P 9mm full size yesterday, I cleaned it and lubed it as I do all my new guns. I went out to my range this morning with several box's of factory ammo to shoot for grouping and point of impact. I got the first 5 off OK, then the...

    Need opinions.. Glock or Springfield?

I have owned both, the Glock wasn't as accurate as the XD ( not by much ) and the Glock destroyed the brass. I had so much ballooning in the web it exceeded safe dimension for reloading ( full chamber support matters ) Also the grip angle on the Glock wasn't to my liking. Google search Glock 40...

+p+ ammo safe for older pistols?

I believe most of these were W.German police guns, what ammo did they use? I assume ball ammo and I wonder if it was NATO ball which is higher pressure than standard 9mm?

    Who owns a Sig SP2022 ?

I own one of the ALL German ones with the Ifalon finish in 9mm. Great trigger, really accurate and 100% reliable. I have put 100's of rounds through it numerous factory and reloads and zero malfunctions since day one. The gun is built solid and might well be Sigs best deal. I paid $469.00 to my...

What is the best combat handgun in use today?

I am leaning toward the CZ75 or the Springfield XDm, I have owned Glocks, Smith's, SIG's, HK, CZ, NUMEROUS 1911's, Colts you name it I most likely either own it or have owned it. The 3rd generation Smith's have one of the best track records out there and were dependable and accurate. The Sig...

SIG 9mm SP2022 question? Can you shoot

Most manufacturers will say DO NOT USE +P+ as their is no set ceiling on pressure. I have 4 different +P+ types of ammo and to be honest some +P have more severe recoil, but recoil doesn't always reflect pressure. I would go on the Sig forum and ask this question, also if the beretta M9 can...

Older Ruger P89, what a jamming POS. Not accurate and even jammed with some ball ammo.

Is CZ the best available for price/function?

WOW M4coyote, I am surprised. I own 4 CZ's and they are ALL VERY accurate. I have shot in competition and have owned over 100 handguns. The CZ's I own from the compact to the full size 9mm, 40S&W and 45acp have all performed exceptionally. The Model 100 is the only CZ I shot that was a POS. I...

Which handguns are used by US "Special Forces"?

My son is currently in Iraq and he got to pick from a list of guns and equipment, he picked the H&K collapsing stock MP5 and the M9, his stateside issue was a Sig P228 to be fazed out as soon as his unit decides what the replacement weapon wil be. He picked the M9 MP5 combo because they are...

in the market for .22 auto loader, any suggestions?

here's what I have owned, various Ruger 22's, Browning Buckmark camper, Walther P22, S&W 22 ( not the 41 ) newest model, Sig Mosquito. I Kept the Browning and the Sig Skeeter. The Browning has been an excellent gun, feeds most anything and is accurate and has a Beautiful trigger. The Mosquito...

    walther p22 or sig mosquito??

I have had both, still have the SIg Skeeter. My P22 was a TOTAL POS Jama-matic. The Skeeter has been 100% reliable with everything except CCI Velocitor ammo, I even shot Aguila Supermax and it feed 100%. My skeeter shoots a ragged hole group at 50 feet with CCI SGB and like most guns has its...
