    My new 338 Lapua Magnum

Nice Rifle That is a beauty of a rifle! Be sure and let us all know how you like it and how it shoots. I have been looking at one one these, but seemed like a heavy gun to carry around, but have never really picked one up either.

Anyone else impressed with Ruger's Handguns?

I have owned two Redhawks and was very pleased. Both the 41 and 44 in 5 1/2 inch are well made and dependable. I would definitely own one again without question.

HI Point Firearms what does anyone know about these

If budget is what you want , then budget is what you get with one of these. They are fine firearms if all you want to do is close quarters shooting for a basic defense gun or even hunting. The Jamming does happen on occaison when using rounds that are not crimped well, but easily cleared. I have...

    Encore Rifle ?

Thanks for all the great information. It is good to know the experiences of others. I will keep you posted on my experiences as time goes by. This year it looks like I will just use the old 1917 30-06.

    Encore Rifle ?

I have been pondering buying an Encore rifle. Since they are relatively new to the market, you don't often see one in being sold second hand. The advantages of having an Encore I believe are that I would be able to switch to a muzzleloader, centerfire, shotgun, or rimfire at any point. I like...

    7mm Magnum

I owned both a Remington 7mm and a Winchester 7mm STW. I prefered the Winchester as the gun was a 26'' and weighed only 7lbs which was fantastic to shoot. Like the posts above mention though, Good luck finding one. I could easily go with a Remington 798.

What was/will be your last/next puchase?

How did your Unintentional Discharge happen?

I have had one misfire in my life so far, and it was with a Rem mod 700 -7mm. All I remember was the gun was in the vehicle with the barrel pointed at the floorboards when the hammer actually dropped with a live bullet in the chamber. How the gun did not go off , I have no idea, but upon...

Howdy Hello from Montana :) I am US Navy vet and a proud parent of 3 daughters. I will need a good shotgun in the not so distant future :p I am also an avid hunter and reloader, although I am essentially breaking back into that hobby again. I have decided that I want to build my next rifle...

brag to me about your state (western states)

Well; I may be biased , but I of course will put my vote in for MT. I have lived here most of my life and I have always wanted to to go to one place if I had the money and the time. The Bob Marshall Wilderness!! with a guide of course but none the less I can't think of a better hunt in all my...

    Gun Stocks ?

I have been looking at different places that sell gun stocks and I wondered if anyone has done much buying online and what kind of experiences anyone has had with replacing stocks. I need to replace my gun stock on my Winchester 300 Mod 70 and would like to try and increase the value a bit by...

    Most Underappreciated Rifle Caliber

Under appreciated . I would have to say the 7mm STW. This round took years to be recognized and Winchester dumped this for the more popular WSM series. I understand some of the pros and cons of this caliber , but over all it is one of the best rounds I have yet to shoot.

I want to get into reloading but...

Reloading definitely pays for itself within a short amount of time. The initial cost of setup is an investment but well worth every dime. I enjoyed using the Rock Chucker by RCBS. I would definitely recommend that kit. ;)

Hey, Thanks for the info. I have been looking into different calibers to try out and the one I have not tried is the 280 which I have heard good things about as well. I adored my STW and would not mind going back with the exception of price and limited availability. My main purpose will be to...

I have long been a 7mm fan, and have shot both 7mm Rem and 7mm STW. I actually liked the STW a bit better, although I don't seem to have any of my old books laying around for that caliber. Is is feasible to go to a heavier bullet (> 160? )with the STW. I also notice that alot of people are...
