    Christians Bearing Arms

I couldn't agree with you more. I recently had a conversation on this issue with another member of my church, and we both came to the conclusion that the potential loss of a wallet or a vehicle could not justify the taking of life. If someone wants to rob you of your cash, make sure they get...

    Christians Bearing Arms

(The following rant was written rather quickly as I was pressed for time. There are probably errors and also certain ideas that will need further clarification. This is merely my view on the issue of self-defense based on My Life So Far, and like most issues that require considerable thought, is...

    Christians Bearing Arms

I highly recommend the essay by C. S. Lewis titled "Why I Am Not A Pacifist," which is now a chapter in the book "The Weight of Glory." "Why I Am Not A Pacifist" was originally a speech delivered by C. S. Lewis at Oxford during the Second World War, and it is as relevant to Christians today as...

Anyone received an alessi holster lately?

Lightning Arms Sports often has Alessi holsters in stock.

Finally narrowed it down, Help me choose from these 7 autoloaders

If your budget was a little higher, I'd recommend the HK P2000 hands-down. Out of all the guns you listed, I'd recommend the FNP-9, though in the "M" variant (FNP-9M). It's a very sweet firearm. CZ P-01 after that.

P2000 as an only polymer gun?

I've owned a few USP pistols (both fullsize and compact). They were nice guns, but the P2000 was the first HK to really amaze me. I think you made a good choice. Enjoy that P2000!

P2000 as an only polymer gun?

The P2000 V3 in 9mm is my favorite handgun...period. I've sold all my Glocks since buying my first P2000 last fall. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a second P2000 "just because." I don't think you'll be disappointed. But if you are, send me a message and I might take it off your hands.

whats the best 9mm auto ever made?

A year ago I probably would have said Glock 19. But I'm starting to think that the HK P2000 has surpassed it in almost every way. If mine continue to perform like they have for the past several months, I think they just might deserve a spot at the top of the "greatest" list. Glock aims for...

    Bad Federal Bulk .22

I picked up the same 550 round Federal bulk pack of .22 at Wal-Mart last week. My Ruger Mark III Hunter was jamming every other magazine (and sometimes twice per magazine). I didn't have problems with any other brand. It does indeed sound like there is a problem with Federal .22 ammo.

    Simplify

Some interesting posts here. And some of you are more "complicated" that I ever was! Nothing wrong with that, though. I'm discovering more and more that I'm just not the collector type. I can't stand owning guns that I don't shoot often. And I don't have the time or money to shoot very often. So...

Ever let someone borrow a firearm?

I have a pistol out on permanent loan to my brother-in-law, who has been on the receiving end of several death threats lately. But for me this is the exception, not the norm.

    Best gun never made

A big +1. I sold my all my USP pistols after getting the P2000. I just never shot them anymore. The P2000 frame would make for an excellent single-stack .45 ACP, though HK would probably have to lengthen the barrel slightly.

Has anyone tried to derail a buy-back?

I know a few people who have turned in crappy guns from their early shooting days. In most cases, they had learned the hard way that Jennings and Lorcin didn't make good guns. Most of the people I know who took their guns to the buyback put the money they earned toward a new Glock or S&W or...

TN house panel votes to let us carry in govt buildings!

I wasn't under the impression that this bill allowed concealed carry inside a courtroom. I'm far more concerned about city parks and the DMV than I am a courtroom.

    Latest CDNN Online Catalog?

I'm a little surprised to see CDNN taking a stance like this. Most of the other firearms they sell are potentially far more deadly than any of their handguns. I can kind of understand it if they're concerned about the media pointing to them as an example of "how easy it is to get any kind of...

    Simplify

(Also posted at GT) After years of buying numerous pistols of different types and brands, the time has come for me to simplify. This is due to a couple of factors, one being the rising cost of ammunition, the other that no matter how many handguns I purchased, I never felt that I was...

    Latest CDNN Online Catalog?

I received their printed catalog in the mail today. It is full of handguns (and in fact they dominate the front cover). Whatever policy they've adopted, it apparently hasn't stopped them from sending out printed catalogs with handguns. Also, I bought an HK P2000 from CDNN a few days after the...

    Tennessee members...

I big +1 for Chattanooga, which bills itself as "America's Scenic City," and understandably so. I've traveled all over the United States and never found a city with Chattanooga's "small-town manners, big-town nightlife and weekend life" charm. Add to that the fact that it is nestled between...

Handled and HK today, very impressed

I've owned a boatload of HKs, many of them USPs. As others here have stated, the advantage of the Variant 1 trigger is that you can carry the USP safely in single-action. I've also heard the supposed downside often repeated: that you might accidentally decock the gun while flicking off the...

    Pick Request...Tuckable Holsters

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of me wearing it, but the photograph below shows the Tucker Texas Heritage that I use on most days. I generally disliked IWB carry until I bought the Texas Heritage, which is more comfortable than anything else I've tried. You can see from the photograph...
