Try 4.5 grains of 231 under the 125 gr bullet. I have shot over a 1,000 of these this year. It is a favorite practice load for me.

Try RL22 for good behavior going thru your meter. The new H4831SC is ok, but not as slick as the RL22. Both powders are compatible with your 300WM. Haven't yet trialed the 7828 SC, but that might have possibilities.

The 180 gr Partition over a case full of 7828 has been a consistent & reliable load for me in my light rifle. I have never been able to get very good accuracy with the X bullet. I use a scope with nearly 5 inches of eye relief. Leupold & Nikon both offer this.

Gold dots are a great choice for carry. Just read of a 135 gr version that sounds like they may na=have merit. Shoot the regular stuff for fun & practice.

I second the motion to take a hard look at the stuff from Bianchi. They offer several good options for your situation. Unfortunately, they dropped their IWB for the 4" K. This was/is a truly great holster, their model #3 Pistol Pocket. Mine still gets 3 or 4 days of use every week.

Imperial wax is good stuff. It has been my "go to" lubricant for a couple decades, tho I have tried several others that have come along, but never found a better lube. A little goes a very long ways & it cleans up nicely.
