I am in a stuation where we can not get pump actions with smotth bores. So the best option I guess is an O/U or a SxS.
Was thinking of having one barrel with 00 and the other with #6. Effective engagement ranges are likely to be under 3 meters am not worried about over over penentration due to...
My two GP11 consumers. Have about 2K of GP 11 on hand mostly '79 manufacture and some 84. Also have about 500 rounds of privi that I am trying to trade for GP11.
For it is the 7.5x55 Swiss.
Used some Privi brass, 174 grain Privi BT's to push them in the same range of velocity as the GP11 surplus round. 5 inch group at 100 meters with irons.
GP-11 surplus ammo: Sub 2 inch consistency, same gun shot before and after the hand loads.
Given that I...
Thinking about Tracers, which to my understanding have a compound that burins in the base of the bullet. This threw up a couple of random questions in my mind:
1. Does it affect accuracy along the lines of what was called Base Bleed ammunition in the 90's primarily for artillery.
2. Does it...
Winchester, Inland, Quality Parts, National Postal meter, Saginaw, Rock Ola?
And why? Thinking of buying one, am not in the US, so things are a little different.

I messed up loading a bunch of .45-70 cases. Didnt flare the case mouth loading soft lead bullets over smokeless and BP and got all kinds of issues including lead running over the case etc.
I have taken apart the rounds, dumped the powder into the garden etc.
I would rather not have to...
Broke the firing pin on my Armi Sport 1874. Guess the stress of 60+ grains of Swiss FFFG under a 500 grain bullet was a bit much.
Anyhow finally got my new firing pins via a friend in the US and swapped it out in under five mintes. Cant believe how ridiculously easy it was.
has anyone tried it?
I am planning on trying it. Just load up the case as much as possible and shoot it.
However not sure if I will be able to stuff enough into the case to cycle the bolt.
I have an Armi Sport .45-70 Sharps falling block rifle. I seem to have broken the firing pin, and would dealry love to know how I can get a replacement and fix the rifle.
All help and pointers are much appreciated.
I am working on a load for my 6 BR. I can consistently get 4 shots into a single hole where the CTC would be in the 0.1X range, and then get a flyer. The flyer is random and blows the group to just under sub MOA.
Going o.1 grains gives me a consistent .3 group. But would like to figure out...
Not mine, I have sold mine off. Came across this on another forum, and the gentleman was looking to sell it off rather than rebarrel after 200 rounds through it.
Anyone want to guess why its not shooting accurately anymore?
My guess is that its time for soem Robala Solo Mil or KG-12...
Does anyone use a duplex load for their .45-70?
If so how do you construct the cartridge, and what if any advantage would you get over either a straight smokeless load or a BP load.
