What are you M1 guys using to refinish the stainless ags parts under the muzzle on the Garands? Anything hold up well? My park is great, but the black is off of the stainless parts. Any help would be appreciated.

My DPMS swallowed 500 rounds of Wolf right on thru...back to back out of 16 loaded mags, not one problem...now my Colt is another story...

You would not be taking a 'chance' on the correct grade; I was at the CMP north store a couple of weeks ago, and the 30 or so Correct grades I was able to view were *beautiful*. You would be happy with what you got, believe me.

So a 20" would be best, over a 16"?

I want an AR with a bull barrel for long range target shooting, in .223. Which would inherently provide the best chance for accuracy, a 16" or a 20"? Is there that big of a difference?

I bought a Mini 14 NRA this weekend and it came with 2 factory 20 rounders. I checked GB when I got home and found a auction for 5 brand new factory mags for $200, so I bought them. So at $40 each I did okay, I guess. Plus now, I'm done buying mags for it!

DPMS@ dpms.com has them for $12 each, either grey dry film, or black teflon coated...both with the GI green followers..the kicker is free shipping no matter how many you buy.

Did you figure out ifthe brass hits the scope?

The grey dry film mags, with the green followers. They are made by several manufactures for the Gov. Cheapest price I have ever found is DPMS, they are less than $12 apiece new, and theyship for free. I buy 6 a month. You can also get the same mags from them, but black teflon coated for $1 more...

I fired 500 rounds of wolf .223 straight thru in my DPMS A2 Ar-15. That was 17 30 round mags, one after the other, continually. The barrel turned white. Not one malf or failure. Its very cheap, so for going nuts its great. I have about 2K rounds stocked up.

Iwas only looking at abou 1K, plus or minus a c-note. That XCR is bad ass, but out of my ranfe for now.

Well, I can't get ahold of a Masada yet, but it looks and sounds interesting.

I am going to the Camp Perry CMP store on the 14th with a buddy, he is getting an M1, and I will be getting a Carbine. And as much ammo that will fit in the trunk. I hope we can hand pick some good ones!
