    Indiana slow to issue?

Not that odd, since it's a license to carry a handgun and doesn't specify how. In Indiana, concealed is less trouble (sometimes a lot less) but it is not required.

SOP when getting pulled over while carrying

Glummer, anyone can have an ND. All it takes is that one clumsy move, like when reloading after a traffic stop. It really is a good idea for Officer Friendly to hand you back your weapon in a manner that gives him time to be out of "oops" range. Then it's just between you and your...

Giving the "silent treatment" when pulled over

Isn't TX one of the states where you're required to hand over your carry permit when stopped by an LEO? So while the details might not be known to the officer, it will be assumed you've got some sort of firearm. (Maybe not a shotgun in the back seat, which would be a little awkward to deploy...

    Which 9mm?

Before you decide, shoot as many different guns as you can! There are a lot of choices out there, most of them good. My inclination is to steer a new shooter away from polymer-framed guns as they are a little top heavy. A steel-framed autoloader is a little more stable in your hand...

    fingernail polish

Fingernail polish works great, especially as I have become farsighted over the years. Acetone will take it off but be very careful. I have never had polish remover damage blued or plated metal but it could be bad on wood or polymer.

    Rudy's Gun-Control Agenda

There are more than just the two parties, and if the Republicans run someone for President who doesn't suit me, I'll vote for the Libertarian or Constitution candidate before I skip the voting booth. There are other races that day, too. Some say voting for a third party is "throwing...

    Gun design questions.

People should shoot what they're comfortable with but it might be useful to discuss with her the ballistic trade-offs between 9mm and .380, especially with modern self-defense type ammunition. There's not all that much practical difference. (Enough difference to support man-centuries of...

Star BM - You like yours?

Pretty grips but I would like them better checkered. Numrich used to have checkered walnut grips for the BM and PD Stars. Not as shiny but easier to hang on to.

CCW size, what do you carry?

Colt Pony Pocketlite, .380, light-ish DAO. I tried a lot of guns but this one is small enough and simple enough to suit me.

    What Caliber for Leprechauns?

Tsk. 4.25 Liliput. It's the only possible excuse for the caliber mice laugh at.

how reliable are cz 9mm handguns?

I have a CZ 75B and Witness compacts in 9mm and 38SA and they have all been very reliable. The CZ is a better carry sidearm for me, the Witnesses are "pointier." All but the 38SA were bought used. You do have to clean them! I don't think the previous owners of mine knew that.

No Guns in Parking Lot - Unconstitutional?

"Concealed is concealed." Friend of mine works for a company with a strict no guns policy. His sidearm goes into locked, concealed storage before he hits their lot, each and every day, and stays there until he's off it. He doesn't talk about it, doesn't show it to co-workers. It's not...
