Has the Kimber K6s hit any of your hands yet?

My review of the gun is here: http://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/K6S/k6s.html. With the original grips I found it very uncomfortable to shoot. I ended up adapting a pair of Pachmayr J-frame grips to it (using a couple of pieces of leather inside and redrilling the hole for the grip screw). With...

    Meaning of Belgian Punch Mark?

Does anyone know the meaning of a punch mark that looks like a candle on a three-tiered candleholder? This is on an old model Melior .25 caliber pistol. Here is a picture: http://www.unblinkingeye.com/eB/Misc/IMGP3995PunchMarks.jpg.

    Advice on Filing a Sight

I wasn't able to find many different loads for the gun, but did manage to find 3 to test with. In the end, the one that shot best was my preferred ammo anyway--Federal home defense loads with hydrashok bullets. The gun is dead on with these, whereas it flings the other loads out several...

Thank you Jim!. I need one of each.

Question on Grip Screws & Nuts

What do you call the "nut" that a grip screw screws into? I'm making a pair of deer antler grips for my little NAA .22 derringer & I need to order a screw to fit them and the little "nut" it screws into. Also, what is a good source for these parts? I would assume Brownells or Numrich, but I...

    Advice on Filing a Sight

Update I achieved success. The gun now shoots where I point it. The only further advice I would add to the above is to put some thick tape on the barrel just behind the sight, so if the file slips you won't mar the barrel.

    Advice on Filing a Sight

I have a new Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 H&R Magnum. It shoots low, so I need to file down the front sight a bit. Other than "go slow and be careful" does anyone have any specific advice? It is made of stainless steel.

    Concealing CCWs

Being a slim guy, I have trouble concealing even small handguns under a t-shirt alone. I usually wear a t-shirt tucked in, then some sort of loose shirt over that hanging down below my belt. I've been able to locate some reasonably dressy shirts that are square cut on the bottom. If I need...

    I like my new Colt

I saw one recently on an internet auction site & the asking price was in the vicinity of $800. You got a bargain.

Why doesn't the .45 look more powerful than the 9mm on paper?

This is purely hearsay and highly unscientific, but I heard that Marines in Iraq prefer the old Government Model .45s over the Beretta 9mms because they can drop an enemy with one .45 round, whereas it takes two or three 9mm rounds to have the same effect. FWIW

Question for the Colt Mustang Experts

Only thing I can figure is they must have had some doubts about the reliability of 6 round magazines, and later they must have satisfied themselves that they were reliable enough to release. It's a bit convoluted, for sure...

Question for the Colt Mustang Experts

Notch on Old Mags I see the notch you are referring to. Obviously, the notch keeps the follower from descending low enough to take a 6th round. Well, I've ordered two 6 round mags, and I think I will also order a couple of mags for a Government Model .380.

Question for the Colt Mustang Experts

Magazines As it happens, I ordered two magazines from that very source this afternoon. It will be interesting to see how the new magazines differ from the old. I took one of the old ones apart--I figure Colt either made the follower smaller, or used a stouter spring with fewer coils for the 6...

Question for the Colt Mustang Experts

Checked the Mags They have the Colt logo on the bottom plate, the words Colt 380 Auto, and the letter M in one corner. No S. There are 5 holes, but I only see rounds through the top 3 holes. Sounds like I may have a couple of the early magazines.

Question for the Colt Mustang Experts

I just bought a nice Mustang that shoots great. But I can't for the life of me get more than 5 rounds in either magazine. Both are Colt mags. Do you suppose the previous owner replaced the springs. Any ideas?

    Grips on Walther Model 8

Grips Sounds like mine got reversed, because the two holes are on the ejection side.

    Grips on Walther Model 8

Anyone know how to remove the grips from the Walther Model 8? I'm assuming that you use a special wrench in the two holes on the right grip, then there is something you can do from the inside to remove the left grip. Can anyone give me specifics?

Need a Part for my 1910 Mauser .25

Going to make one My cousin is a machinist & he said he would help me make the part. He has facilities for hardening too. I bought the gun to shoot it. It isn't really collectible, since it has been re-blued and the side-plate serial number doesn't match. It is quite accurate and fun to...
