6.5 grendel or 6.8 spc for boar

Obviously this choice comes down to which rifle you shoot better in the field, given that both are of sound quality and well maintained. To open up a real margin of performance I would suggest an M&P 10 308 Win with its 18" 5R barrel or perhaps a chrome lined 16" Armalite AR10A4CB.

"Who cares? As long as I can buy a new Ruger American and a Savage Axis", said Everyone, all the time.

    PSA Resurrecting the STG-44

I always viewed that rifle as too heavy and underpowered, esp. in semi auto

    Favorite .277 / 6.8mm?

I like 270 and 270 WSM. WSM has about 200 FPS advantage, so that is nice and you can tell on game IME.

    223 bolt action

Except a few models still use two digit identifiers for short action like the 12 Low profile varmint etc. Savage tinkers and changes to no end and to no avail. They had a great rifle years ago and should have left it alone.

    Ruger SFAR 6.5 creedmoor

Its probably the lightest 6.5 AR10 you can buy. I like the Smith and Wesson Performance Center 6.5 but it is a slightly bigger unit. https://gunmagwarehouse.com/blog/a-long-range-semi-auto-smith-wessons-mp-10-6-5mm-creedmoor/

M1 Garand vs 1903 Springfield Reliability

I read that soldiers in frozen Korea were very glad to have their M1s as they said if you kept it dry and oil free it would not jam up.

    Scope for AR 10?

About the lightest magnified setup I can think of would be a Leup. Feeedom 1-4X20mm on an Aero Ultralight mount. That would come in at about 13 oz total. But appropriate for an AR10?? A small red dot might be lighter, but no magnification. But for a hog gun it would be fine

    Favorite 25 Cal?

Snagged a NIB Ruger walnut stock to replace my 25-06 Hawkeye black synthetic yesterday. That will make it a stainless/walnut combo. Pics soon.

    Howa bolt guns

i have experience with two Vanguards. One was typical 1.5 MOA and gritty trigger. The other is sub MOA and perfect factory trigger. I have never touched a screw on that one...

My reloads are always purposed for hunting, so mag length is always checked as a matter of course.

    Favorite 6mm?

Its the Hornady manual pushing hornady product. Also, a small issue with 6mm Remington in a 700 is that the mag well is too short to allow seating to the lands in some situations. Mag length determines OAL with that one. There are longer actions where that is not an issue. 243 Win does not...

    Favorite 25 Cal?

Theres nothing wrong with a 270. But if I am loading up some nice 100 gr. for 300 yd. shots on coyotes or 75 gr. I aint grabbing my 270. I amgrabbing the 25-06. They are just better in that weight range. But then again if I go elk hunting in Montana, I am loadi g 150's in the 270, not the...
