I use a password management app and keep a copy of important stuff in that. It's encrypted and only my wife and I have access. It uses multi-factor authentication so you'd have to have access to my phone (physical) and defeat it's security, to even access the app to generate the code to access...
Thanks again for all of the input, lots of good information. Seems most is from the law enforcement/security perspective, which of course is understandable given mostly law enforcement would be issued a collapsible baton.
However, my perspective is one of strictly defensive use, not offensive...
I am a huge Glock fan and my single stack 9mm of choice is the Shield. It has a more comfortable grip than the Glock 43 and the barrel is shorter. The length of the Glock 43 kept me from being able to pocket carry it but I can pocket carry the Shield no problem. It's also nice to carry IWB. Plus...
If it's a 1911 variant like you have I'd put several boxes of my carry ammo through it and it it hiccups at all, I'd switch over to cheap range ammo and shoot several hundred rounds of that, then go back to the carry stuff. Otherwise most of the time revolvers and polymer striker fired guns do...
My wife carries a small pepper spray with her when she walks and I have one in my desk drawer. I had one spray in my pocket one time so I am leery of carrying them. It was probably a one in a million type thing but that made for a miserable ride home!
I carry an ASP Protector 16". It has a pocket clip and I just clip it inside one of my pants pockets while foot commuting then drop it in my desk drawer when I get to the office.
If I leave my house, a flashlight goes in my pocket. Along with a knife and a gun. I've carried flashlights almost as long as I've carried pocket knives. Most handy thing I have most of the time. I am a big fan of Streamlight, Fenix and Olight mostly. There are some other good brands also but...
Due to several things outside of my control, I cannot carry concealed to or while at work. Which means my decent walk from where I park to where I work is unarmed. I've taken to training with and carrying a collapsible baton and was curious of others do as well? If not what do you do for similar...
In SC we still have to fill out a form 4473 (though some FFLs have gone to an electronic version which is nice) if we are a concealed weapons permit holder, it just means the FFL doesn't have to call NICS to perform a background check. We are sort of instantly approved to purchase.
I can...
Big fan of 200gr 35 Rem here. Great on all sorts of critters. I wouldn't feel undergunned on anything that walks, swims, crawls or slithers in my neck of the woods.
