Finally had the time to check out the 10mm. This is a very impressive cartridge. I had always just thought of it as a small .45 acp. The velocity and energy is very impressive in some of the Buffalo bore and Corbon loads. I can't wait to shoot one and compare it to a .357 mag.

Thanks for all the good replies. I am starting to think there is no one gun solution. It seems for the true potential of a magnum revolver to be realized a 3" barrel is a minimum (particularly if wanting to use it against animals and have decent control of recoil). I saw that a 3" S&W 329PD .44...
