    How would gun confiscation work?

Go to the sporting goods store. From the files obtain forms 4473. These will contain descriptions of weapons, and lists of private ownership.

Moving to Massachusetts from Tennessee with revolver -- any advice?

No, you do not need to register any firearm when moving from another state. This is the only exception to MA's "registration'" requirements. Any other firearms you acquire and/or purchase while residing in MA (this includes longarms purchased in another state), will have to be entered into...

Have any post Heller/McDonald AWB cases been filed yet?

I'm aware that briefs have been filed in the areas of CCW, age requirements, etc, but I haven't heard or read of any plaintiffs seeking to overturn AWB's (and/or magazine capacity limitations), for states that have one. Any speculation why this hasn't happened yet?

Does anyone have info on the 1994 AWB voting record?

If you mean the 2004 vote... because even though Bush stated earlier on that he supported a ban on "assault weapons", he gave the measure the old nudge-nudge, wink-wink and made certain that it didn't get any support from the Republican controled Congress. In fact, the NRA held off any...

Does anyone have info on the 1994 AWB voting record?

That was for the final version of the bill (not that it really matters... the end result was still the same). This is the voting record for Feinsteins AWB amendment to the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 93 (Coverdale voted "Nay")...

Waiting Period In Massachusetts for first Gun?

There is no waiting period and no such authority has been granted to the State Police or any other MA law enforcement agency. By federal law, the dealer must withhold the sale/transfer for 3 business days if there is no response from the NICs. If after the 3 days have passed, the dealer...

Why did Daly let Appeal go to Supreme Court?

IIRC... the Bradys had attempted to persuade Fenty/DC not to appeal Parker/Heller due to the inevitable consequences. Again... fortunately for us, stubborn minds didn't listen to those with more experienced and knowledgeable advice.

Why did Daly let Appeal go to Supreme Court?

Arrogance... stubborn... hot head. Holier than thou attitude that "he's the boss" and what he says is the final word on the matter. Even if he had mooted the case, there were at least two other potential incorporation cases (I believe Nordyke and one out of NY State), on the back burner...

Chicago Moves Quickly to Replace Previous Ban Ordinance

When the 7th Circuit Court rehears McDonald, can they also make a ruling (or go beyond the original grievances filed in the case), regarding the "reasonableness" of the city's licensing scheme? IOW... can they say no, you can't ban handguns, and no you can't place burdensome, time consuming...

Brady Bunch et. al. are marginalized and dilusional!

LOL! What they're not saying there is that they didn't file a "friend of the court brief" on the side of Chicago; instead they filed a brief supporting neither side. Guess they figured it might be better for morale and publicity that they chose not to side with an obvious loser.

    7th Circuit Court question.

So, we know that McDonald has been sent back to the 7th for review; and that it's a given they'll have to strike down Chicago's handgun ban, but, what else can they do? Daley has already vowed to place as many obstacles in the way as possible, can the court (would the court), strike these down...

"We're not going to roll over," Chicago Mayor Richard Daley said.

Totally useless, ineffective, spiteful gesture. DC's blockade of gun stores works only because of existing federal law that prohibits cross border sales of handguns unless the firearm is shipped to an FFL in the buyers state of residence (proposed legislation stagnating in Congress would...

What if Chicago Loses Its Gun Case? (an analysis by the Bradys).

I'm curious to hear from THR's legal and Constitutional minds regarding the truthfulness of the following opinion piece... http://blog.bradycampaign.org/?p=2316

Why isn't the upper of an AR-15 classified as the receiver?

So... now I'm wondering. My two Imbel FAL's (built from parts kits), have serial numbers on the lower frame/receiver, but in order to complete my builds, I had to purchase serial numbered upper receivers from a manufacturer (DCI and DSA Arms). Now, why is it that the upper is the regulated...

Supreme Court likely decision to overturn Chicago's gun ban could impact New York

Tom "Mumbles" Menino - Mayor of Boston and along with Bloomberg, cofounder of "Mayors Against Illegal Guns". Trust me... he'll be screaming like a chimpanzee caught in a leg hold trap if any of MA's/Bostons gun control laws are in danger of being overturned.

Gun Curfew due to storm. Really?

Well, I suppose every cloud has it's silver lining. Just a simple Google search is enough to show that this 'situation' has gone national and is being discussed on firearms/survivalist forums I had been previously unaware of. Given the 'severity' of the emergency (and it was a weekend), not...

Post-McDonald: Will the NRA take on the NFA?

And there would be the inevitable opposition from collectors/investors who have a sizable chunk of money tied up in their 'hobby'. Even though overturning either the NFA (at least the full-auto part), or the 86 ban would enable them to expand their collection even more, it would come at a huge...

Gun and ammo bans in North Carolina.

The law in question... It would seem that the CLEO in this case had the legal right to call for such a ban, however, it displays poor judgment and over reaction to the "emergency". Near as I can tell, this particular CLEO (out of the thousands in NC), is the only one to take such action.
