Minus the suspenders and old time music at night (I prefer gospel) I hear ya cosmoline. Lack of parenting, the fact it my make them feel "cool", or just lack of respect and education. The reasons are numeruos but it makes me cringe when I think our future is in there hands. Not to be politcal...
I reallty like the feel of the 4 1/4 SW1911PD scandium framed 1911. Gotta save the cool "K" to get one but wondering what all your experience can tell me. Anybody have one? Problems? Your input is appreciated.
Just saying I never want to be under gunned. IMHO if close qtrs combat ever required use of a sidearm I want a 40 or 45 for the extra punch. Not that "scientifically" it will ever matter to the BG but for me if I cannot hit him with 8 what good is 13 gunna do me. If I gotta shoot em twice with...
"knockdown" power is a myth with FMJ rounds anyhow, unless you center punch bone mass. A flesh wound will leave him/her walking in most cases. So if we throw the force of impact aruement out the window what stops the BG is blood leaving the body, so more holes or bigger holes are the answer...
RIA or Taurus. Friend has RIA and I have Taurus. Both shoot very very well for the price. Accurate and reliable. NO issues what so ever. It is a budget gun so don't look for the finish of a 1k or more pistol but can't be beat for in regards to bang for the buck.
Must be talking about Kieths. Cannot stand that place when it comes to customer service but sure do have a lot of choices.
EMP is an awsome little gun. Feels great in the hand and shoots really well. Friend bought one and gave me a case of gun envy. Just wish it was avial in something...
PRICE is by far not the most imortant. There are those that think you cannot get reliability for under 1k. Not true.
#1 Reliability. To be proven after the purchase if everytime you pull the trigger it goes bang w/o malfunction. I don't care if it is a 200.00 or 2000.00 dollar gun...
Alright guys if the BG is in BA and breaks into your home and your SD weapon is predetermined as in most if not all of our cases. I do not choose nightly which firearm will be for HD on any particular day or night. It just is the HD choice.
So penetration or stopping power? My opinion is...
Does anyone else have a problem 9mm,40's etc being called "1911"s?
We need a new name for the new calibers built upon the trusty 1911 platform. It is like calling a Yugo a BMW.....
Just got a good deal on a set of Pachmayer Legend grips for my 45. Problem is I have ambi safety and the grips are not cut for that option on the RH side.
Is the dremel the best tool? Lookin for some advice.
Wow. As the OP of this thread I would have never dreamed it would have disolved into this discussion. A simple question was asked if anyone had any exerience with the SFS.
The condition of carry is the carriers choice. Personally I believe a 1911 cocked and locked is a safer firearm that...
Does not look to complicated. (go to cylinder slide website for details) Not against condition 3 carry but this option, if it works seem really well cool for lack of a better term.
As for the Glock option. I like function and beauty (1911) vs. the ugly yet functional brick called aka Glock...
Has anyone installed this kit on thier 1911? I am curious as to how effective it is. Cylinder and Slide make this kit and according to the propaganda it states that you can carry your 1911 condition 2 but w/ safety on. When safety is pushed down hammer is cocked simotaneously therefore acting...

Anonymous wrong person. No one knows what Jesus looks like, there is just a common picture that makes him look like some...
Why limit your options? Get the 357 and the 1911. If I had to choose just one I would go w/ the SW1911PD with the scandium frame and CT grips in the 4".
Awsome little gun.
Hmmm. You gotta know that every mfg is going to jump all over this bandwagon. But as for me what I would like to see is alot like the post from dhoomonyou except that I would not mind seeing it in a variation of finishes. A deep blued finish that looks like you can reach into it, as well as...
Quoted from article in Jan. issue of Guns by Duke Venturino
"A man can be a pillar of the community, honest as the day is long; someone who never misses a payment and whose word is his bond. Then ask him how accurately his guns shoot or how well he can shoot and he becomes a pathological...
