    Parts for a Turkish Mauser.

I need the screw that holds the bolt stop/ejector into the action, as well as some other odd parts for an unconverted turkish mauser. Does any one have any idea where to find these parts, and if any other makers will exchange with them.

Bullet sizing for the .405 Winchester

Does anybody know off the top of your head what a cast bullet for a Japanese reproduction 1895 Winchester should be sized to? I thought it was .411 but Lymans dies jump from .410 to .413. My initial thought was to go with the .413, but now I've thought about it, and I'm second guessing myself.

    Colt Junior .25

I inherited this gun a few years back, and until a week or so ago it side in a box in my closet. Last week I took it out to see how it worked and I now have a question. Should it be possible to manually cock the hammer? If you chamber a round and lower the hammer, it is then not...

    Allin Conversion

I was in a local gun shop yesterday and noticed what appeared at first glance to be an 1863 Springfield reproduction. I say that because all I could see was the belly of the gun and it appeared to be almost brand new. To make a long story short, it turned out to be a 1866 Allin conversion...

    US Marked Mosin Nagant

A buddy has a Remington Mfd Mosin Rifle. The gun is marked 1917 on the receiver. The barrel is marked U.S. Mod 917. That's not a misprint, not 1917 but 917. The gun is in pretty decent shape, I would say at least 50% and probably better. I have a couple of questions. Is this an...

    AMS Hartford .45

I'm having a problem with the base pin walking out of this gun. There is a lot of forward slack in the pin when the gun is assembled, and I think that is contributing to my problem. Any ideas, or should I just buy an aftermarket pin?

    Carbide dies for Rifles?

I was having lunch today with a shooting pal. Between the two of us we have 80+ years experience reloading, and a question came up for which we have no answer. No one that I am aware of makes a carbide sizing die for any bottle neck cartridges, nor for the longer straight walled cases like...

    W. Richards Shotgun

I recently acquired an old double 12 guage, and am trying to get some info on the maker and possibly the history and date of manufacture. It has back action percusion style locks, an under swivel lock where the forearm would be on a more modern gun, and the only markings I can find are W...

    Loading brass shotgun shells

I recently acquired some new full length brass 12 guage shotgun hulls from Midway. Does anyone know where to get any reloading data for these?

    Rare? Mosin-Nagant Rifle

A buddy of mine went to Starbucks this AM and were, as usual, talking guns. Both of us have picked up a lot of oddball stuff over the years, and it turned out we each have a Mosin-Nagant rifle. Mine is nothing to brag about. An arsenal rework that sold at Big 5 a few years back for 69...

Looking for a source of lubed and sized .454 bullets for the .45 LC, preferably pure lead. Anyone have any ideas?

    Sleeving a shotgun barrel?

Mods, I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in "smithing, move if appropo. I have been offered a pre-war JP Sauer in 16 guage at what I feel is a fairly reasonable price. The gun locks up tight, and cosmetically looks good. I did not have an opportunity to pull the triggers, as the...

    28 guage no longer exists

The local Walmart in Surprise, AZ is on my way to the skeet range. I had my son and his new wife with me, so I thought I'ld stop and pick some extra shells for my 28. His wife having never shot before, I thought I would start her out on a light weight, light recoil gun. I just thought...

    Pietta Le Mat

I just spent the better part of an hour at Cabella's this afternoon, checking out a Pietta Le Mat. I know that Pietta does not have the best reputation for quality, so I'm interested in hearing any comments that any current or former owners and users may have regarding this gun. Thanks

    M1 Carbine conversion?

This is generally directed toward all the 'smiths out there. Now that CMP has finished their second run of carbines, I'm just curious: Have the inevitable "Can you convert my new M1 carbine to (:what:insert any high pressure belted magnum cartridge here:what:)" started yet?

    Westley Richards Cartridge question

OK folks, I need a little help. I have an old friend who has a pretty extensive cartridge collection, and we don't usually get into many disagreements on them, 'specially since I don't collect cartridges, but this one is driving me nuts. He has a cartridge which is obviously a...

    bolt alteration

I am getting ready to build a .264 WinMAg on a 1917 Enfield action, and have two questions. The first is, what should I realisticly expect to pay to have the bolt face altered? Second question is other than corrosion resistance, is there any advantage to going stainless for the barrel...

    Need a Rocket Scientist!

Here's one for all you hi tech guys to chew on for a while. Have a buddy who works for a little R&D outfit near Redstone Arsenal. They primarily do testing and eval for some of the bigger firms and occasionally for the military. They are currently working on a new projectile concept which...

    cz (huglu) side by

Late last summer, my local gun shop put some CZ dbl-barrels out. One was a sweet little 28 guage with single select trigger and screw-in chokes. The price was right, so I grabbed it. Took it to the sket range and half-way through the first box, it started to double. Shop owner sent it back...
