223 rem loads = bolt not close very easy...

Oops, left this thread alone too long. I'll try and cover any questions previously presented. If I miss yours, just remind me. :) I did trim this batch of brass before feeding to the progressive press. I trimed them to .002" under the "trim-to" length expecting about that much growth...

223 rem loads = bolt not close very easy...

I am loading some 223 remington today. Things are going well with the Hornady L-n-L AP except the rounds coming out are a bit harder to close the bolt on. The case head is being pressed a bit as evidenced by the new shinney patches on the case head. I have marked all around the neck, shoulder...

    Nosler Ballistic Silvertips

Combined Technologies is Nosler. They just label the bullets they co-designed with Winchester as Combined Technologies. I like the BSTs too. :D

    Are WSM's actually catching on?

While I completely agree that gun mag reviews can be and mostly are influenced by ad dollars, when they all seem to agree it's prolly not just a fluke of advertising money corruption. I still take things I read with a grain of salt. :D The praise hasn't come mearly from gun rags though...

    Are WSM's actually catching on?

From what I hear the WSM and prolly WSSM lines are catching on quite alrigt. They are being praised in most gun rags and on forums enough that I think lots of people either have one or want one. I could be wrong, but one this is for sure they are catching on better than the Remington SA Mags...

brass or bullets being made for 2.7x26 ?

Great site, lfbmoreira! And no, I would not see a way to make the 5.7x28 out of a 30 carbine. Bummer. :(

brass or bullets being made for 2.7x26 ?

It does seem resonable to conclude that the 5.7x 28 is based on a 30 Carbine cartridge. I would say judging by picutes that it likely was. I cannot however find any measurements of a 5.7x28 case anywhere online to make a more scientific comparison. :( Anybody feel like mic'n a few casings...

Is there a .22 LR semi rifle mean looking (military alike with evil looking)?

Yep, Rupestris, that is the stock I have on my 10/22. I like it quite a bit. It's light, comfy and makes the 10/22 a bit more EBRish :D Couldn't find a decent pic of my actual 10/22. Looks much like the pic you posted though. :)

Is there a .22 LR semi rifle mean looking (military alike with evil looking)?

OMG! That's a Walther?! I thought it looked like a Hipoint carbine at first. This thing is likely more refined..... I'd hope. :p

Is there a .22 LR semi rifle mean looking (military alike with evil looking)?

I have a "Dragunov" style stock on my 10/22. It looks kinda AWish and is rather comfy to shoot IMHO. DPMS makes an AR styled rifle in 22lr it also looks pretty sweet. :D http://www.dpmsinc.com/22_lr.html

    Ballistic Software

My favorite is Point Blank. It's completely free and makes a nice addition to any reloader's collection. Has bullet tables with all sorts of info. Stores your loads in a database along with any group size info you enter. Very slick and has a bunch of other calculators built in as well...

    .338 Lapua Choices

artherd - I wouldn't say my magazine rattles. It can be wiggled side to side and back and forth a bit with a firm hand, but it doesn't rattle on it's own from what I've noticed. I hear ya completely on the 70 bucks a box of 20 price on factory ammo. (Black Hills I assume... Lapua...

    .338 Lapua Choices

I also have a AR30-M. The fit and finish is generally quite good. The trigger is a bit thinner than I like but that is minor. The safety switch on the other hand does bother me to some extent. It is basically just a stamped peice of sheet steel. While it does work it doesn't exactly seem...

why are my shots going left?

I had the same thing happen while loading for my .338 Lapua. I dialed in some 200 gr Hornady SPs to be 1.5 inches high and dead center at 100 yards to get started out. I wasn't happy with the groups that they were giving me (and I really wanted a 250 gr bullet) so I tried a box of 250 gr...

Lee new cast iron press the Classic

The new Lee press looks great. I recently upgraded from the Challenger press to a Lyman Crusher II, so I prolly won't buy one. Then again for 60 bucks it might be nice to have around. The spent primer tube sounds like a very nice feature! And DAMN Gewehr98, you need to clean that bench...

    Magnum Primers

Winchester WLRM worked fine for me this year for my .338 Lapua. Had some 80 - 90 degree weather while developing the load and sighting in the rifle. During deer season it was a bitter -13 F. Granted I only shot 4 or 5 times while hunting and not on paper, but the bullets hit their target...

    brass question...strange deformity

I'll third Amerc being utter junk. Case thickness is horribly inconsistant, makes it very hard to get the bullets to seat right. I'm dunno what metal they used to make the cases, but it sure doesn't look like the brass we are used to. Just to add a "nice finishing touch" the headstamp looks...
