Not only do prices seem to be coming down, but I stopped by my local Cabela's the other day and their ammo shelves were 90+% stocked. They even had bricks of .22LR that I haven't seen locally for months.
That's because .22LR can be used in pistols and Walmart won't sell them to you.

Currently my weapon of choice is my SKS, but only because I've been shooting mine for 12 years now. Second being my non-ban danger Howa 1500 30-06 that I been throwing lead with for 20 years.
