I read on the Crimson site 1911 section that they offered a special safety for use with 1911 Compacts and thought that would work for the EMP. Jon, from Crimson, posted his response to my forum query here: Oh well, spread the word to get more requests in to them.

I use this exclusively in my EMP, as it never failed, not once, in that firearm. Accurate and seems as though it would work well getting in past heavy clothing.
