After looking all over for a reasonably priced carbide .45 acp die set I found them at the source. I ordered a set direct from RCBS for $69.99 plus tax with free shipping. Encouraged by that I headed to Lyman's site and ordered a decapping rod assembly.

Aside from the grips and the JQ prefix on the serial number how is it any different from a regular production run gun. The grips are easily changed & who cares what the serial number is.

It's too big for a pocket/backup gun & only five rounds puts it out of the running for a primary.

How long is the extraction throw? The .22 mag cases might be too long for a good clean extraction.

I don't carry a 1911 anymore but when I did it was usually loaded with hollowpoints. It was carried with hardball on rare occasions when, for one reason or another, hollopoints couldn't be used. I never felt that I was inadequately armed.

I agree with Skipsan. A G17 w/AA kit feels very light.

XD sights are hard to drift. Call Springfield & tell tem about it & they'll probably send you a call tag to send it in. I had an XD-9 Tactical that shot way off & they took care of it with the shipping both ways on their nickle. It took about 10 days to get the gun back.

Just as I though......blowing smoke. I wasn't asking for myself, I don't care....I don't use them. There are other's who might benefit from knowing where you buy them for that price.
