    Guns with Character

1911, astra 600, colt saa, winchester 94, anything that uses blackpowder and caps(unless it's those modern rifles with scopes and plastic stocks.) Usually stuff designed before 1950.

Poll: How much ammo is too much?

It's too much when your ammo starts pushing your beer out of the refrigerator.

    bertta U22 NEOS

It will fire once. I don't think a 22 short usually has the pep to cycle something made for a 22lr. That's why it's best to read every gun you use. They know all the answers.

    Stockpiling Ammo

And speaking of stockpiling, who the hell else is stockpiling 22 longs?! (No I didn't say Long Rifle) Man that pisses me off.

    Stockpiling Ammo

Listen ThrottleJockey, I take offense to some of your comments. Obama, pretty? The guy is gorgeous. Listening to him talk about banning assault weapons........siiiiiggghhhh.

Angelina Jolie trailer banned in U.K....

I don't know if Angelina Jolie is pro-gun, but I did hear she collects knives, which, disturbingly, are partially regulated in the UK. It seems that since they banned guns, stabbings have skyrocketted. Some anti-violence groups have even put forward the genius idea of having blunt pointed...

    Stockpiling Ammo

"The coming revolution"??!! Holy crap, I hope a lot of you guys are kidding. Anyway to the OP, the answer is Obama. That is why we are stockpiling. All the lawmaking branches of our government controlled by people who think we're the bad guys. I sort of stockpile 7x57's because they seem to...

Why do they call it a cooling off period?

Boy I hope that "cooling off" period thing isn't contagious. Arizona is the next state over, and if your trampy, air-headed state spreads that disease over here, I'm going to be pissed.

Rumor Mill: Smith to phase out the Internal Lock?

I want to know where that salesperson is too! But I'll drive from here in Phoenix all the way up to Boise just to hear more pearls of wisdom from that guy! That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

    22LR in a 22Mag cylinder?

    Nooooooo!!!!!

How feasible is a spring-loaded sleeve derringer?

Not very (feasible). If you have a concealed carry, I don't think you should run up on any illegality, but from stories I've heard about the card sharps in the 1800's, they required a lot of discipline. You had to keep your wrist, or the entire arm in one position until you needed a firearm...

    Your Most Accurate Pistol

Hey Resto Guy, don't apologize for the Rossi, the point I'm kind of hinting at is that some guns work well beyond their means when they are in the right hands. I don't know if its ergonomics or something, but it's not the gun being accurate by itself.

    Short Barrelled Rifling

The thread on the NAA Mini revolvers got me to looking at my own 22 short NAA revolver and I noticed the barrel is rifled. My dumb question is "What's the point?" Could you notice a difference in accuracy in a 1 1/8" barrel in a gun that doesn't even have sights anyway? For you techies out...

    North American Arms mini revolver

Maybe a minimaster in 22 mag. I have the 22 short model and a minimaster in 17hmr, and the little revolvers are not exactly quick to cock and shoot. Fun to shoot(the minimaster has a bigger grip) but not made for self defense unless you have it cocked and under the table during a poker game...

    Want to buy first handgun!!!Help

As a first handgun I would always recommend a revolver. You load it, and it's loaded, none of that "I didn't know a semi-auto would fire without a clip" foolishness. Simple straightforward, and if you have it in 38 special, it will be cheaper to shoot(a lot cheaper!) than a 10mm, and you can...

turning 21... what would pique your interests?

I like my EAA 9mm a lot since I noticed you like the CZ, but I would go with a 1911. Beretta 92's are always nice, a lever action 30-30 even though it's not a pistol, how about a nice target 22 pistol since ammo's getting a little expensive? A featherweight S&W in 38 special? So many choices!

Any stories of miraculous shots to go along with these choices?

    Your Most Accurate Pistol

If you have to take one shot, and only one shot with a reasonable amount of time to aim at a target, what handgun would you use? I was thinking the other day that if I had to take one shot at a target or on the range, my most accurate rifle is my dad's old Remington 700 in 30-06. I don't know...

    baretta 9mm or 1911?

"forest survival" ? I would have a Buckmark .22, but of the two I like Beretta 92s. I've always been fond of the 45auto though so I can't imagine you'd be in trouble either way. And didn't the US Army have special survival shot cartridges made for their 1911's during WWII? Hmmmm

Lawyer Locks on guns....anyone use them?

I have them on an S&W, two Taurus, and a Rossi if I remember right, but I have never used them. I lock them up if I don't use them. If I used one and it failed, I would sue the Brady bunch and the state of california first before I sued the manufacturer.
