I usually use Turtle Wax. Last month I ran out and used the expensive Mequiars.

Fired but uncleaned brass ... shelf life, safety?

Put it away and don't worry about it. I started reloading in the 70's and still have some of my original brass.

    NRA Board Of Directors

Your Feb NRA magazine has a ballot for the board. I would like to recommend Jim Supica. Jim is a current board member and is up for re-election. Jim is the owner of Old Town Station and one of the authors of the Standard Catalog of S&W. He is the past President of the SWCA and is a very pro gun guy.

**Official: How much do you spend on Ammo Thread**

I take a check for $25 to the gunshop every Saturday. I am stocking up on components as I plan to retire soon and my income is going to plunge. I have about 10k rounds of .22lr on hand and lots of bullets, brass, powder and primers. Monday I will order a thousand .223 bullets as I am getting low...

Series 70 Gold Cup National Match

I have had one for about 30 years and have put over 15k reloaded lead rounds down range with it. I had a few problems early on, but they were related to a bad extractor. Since I got that fixed, I have had very few problems. I did replace the collet bushing also. I trust my Sig more, but all that...

    Case Cleaning?

I think that Midway now has tumblers on sale for about 40.00. It is money well spent and I have one of their tumblers that I have been using for over 10 years.

Switching 550B from .45 to 9mm (and back)

I load as many small primer or large primer rounds as I can before I switch. Instead of buying a new powder measure, just buy the powder bar and switch that out. Easier and cheaper.

Reloading for lever guns - Crimping?

You should be able to see the crimp. Cast bullets and many jacketed ones have a cannelure that you can roll the case into. 41 mags, esp with heavy loads require a strong crimp. I have a Win 94 in 44 mag that I have fired many of my reloads in without any problems.

    Ammo dump

Several years ago on rec.guns a chap did an informal survey and found that approx 7k rounds was the average with the big boys having 10 times that. Personally, I am above average.

    De-priming and Priming tools

The Lee Loader has all you need and is under 20.00. Later on if you get serious, you can start reloading with it. I did 30 years ago.
