A buddy of mine was recently given an old (1905) Colt revolver in 32-20 with what I think is a (worn) nickel finish. It has surely been used, but mechanically it feels swiss-watch tight and times perfectly, with a really nice trigger pull and "feel".
Here's some crappy pictures (still no...
Ok, I fixed the problem with the bolt with a judicious application of elbow grease. Turns out what I thought was finish was old lube that had hardened.
Still haven't had a chance to shoot it, but I am wondering exactly what I have and what it is worth. Here's all the clues I can find on the...
So I made the mistake of going to the gun shop with money in my pocket on Saturday and ended up with a new rifle. It's a commercial FN Mauser chambered in .300 Win Mag. It came with a Monte Carlo/pistol grip stock that has a couple of little dings/rubs, but is otherwise in good shape. The metal...
Just how tight am I supposed to screw these into the case trimmer? If I screw it in hand tight, there's a visible "gap" where the shaft of the pilot doesn't cover the "hole" between the cutting blades, but when I screw it all the way in (which required pliers) it seems to cut the case too...
Ok, a friend of mine just picked one of these up for a song, but part of the reason it was so cheap was it's lacking a magazine.
As the actual mags are rarer than rocking horse doody, I thought I'd see if anyone knew of a workaround or alternate mag that is a functional fit. He's not worried...
I normally don't post "ads" for people/stuff, but I am so happy with my latest purchase, I figure I'd share.
I just received a custom-made tactical sling from jfowl, one of the Gunboards guys who made it to my specifications after many emails back and forth while I dithered over exactly what...
I realise these may have been answered before, but I turned up so many results I thought I'd just pray for forgiveness and ask again :)
Ok, I've not had chance or need to shoot a shotgun since I was 13 (too long ago to admit) and even then it was birdshot for clays.
I recently got a Mossberg...
I've found that with my less than perfect eye-sight the standard post and notch sights of the sort fitted to the SKS are not the best for me if I want to hit anything.
I've seen the Tech Sights mentioned in a few places, always with high regard. As they don't require any drilling or tapping...
I've been looking at black powder handguns a lot lately but have so far stalled on buying one as I know -very- little about them.
I'd pretty much decided on an 1860 Army in .44, but that's mostly down to not knowing too much about what is out there. I figure I'll just fire off my questions...
