By far the Judge is not worthless. When using the gun as it was intended for, it works great. I own one and love the gun. With the 45 Colts, I get very good accuracy at 25 yards. But used in close quarters, I bet you would not want that gun pointing at you with any load including bird shot...

Forget shooting the 454 Casull's and 45 Colts in your S&W 460 Mag, you don't buy a S&W 460 Mag to shoot light loads. I never understood why anyone wants to do that. The only reason you buy a big gun is to shoot big loads.

Leupold VX3 2.5-8X32 would be my choice, but if you don't want to spend that much money, the Bushnell 2X6X32 will work just as well. I had one on my S&W 460 Mag, then it went on my 500 Mag and it is still holding up.

If one practices enough, a single action is just as quick as a double action. I feel comfortable with ether in a SD situation.

I own just as many double actions as I do single actions. I shoot them both well. When hunting, I like to use single action, even on a double action gun.
