    Xtreme 9mm 124gr FMJ frustration

YES!! Issue was with 357Sig 124grain bullets from extreme. was having set back problems with 2-5 rounds per 50! Posted the same question you asked and the experts came out of the woodwork! Your loading it all wrong, do it like this and every round will be perfect-like mine. Second (of...

    Taurus snub locked up

I'd like to get aboard the Taurus "bashing train", but I can't! Got one model 85SS that I've shot +P reloads though that I would never subject my Smith 36 to. Nothing but praise from this corner for Taurus. How's about a 158 grain LHPSWC pushed to 924 (ten shot average) with 2400.

Do You Carry With a Round In the Chamber While You CC or OC?

I've had my carry permit for around 20 years. Most of which I carried a Smith snub. Times changed and so did I, next carry weapon was a Smith 39. Then the 9MM failure in Miami went down and so did my carrying a 9! Next up, a Kimber pro-carry in 45. (to me) a very well done 1911! Got really tired...

Of All of Your Hanguns, Which Is Your Minimal Level of Comfort for SD?

Back in the day, before the 9MM became so popular, I read in one of the gun rags that 22's and 38's accounted for more deaths than all the rest of the calibers combined. Not sure if that statement would still be true today, but I still carry a 38 snub with +P reloads with 158 LSWHP over max...

    TAURUS got me. Broken gun.

Bought and own one glock pistol. For years it was (by anyone's standards) a POS. Would jam on the fourth/fifth round fired. I'd mess with it for awhile, get mad and throw it back in the safe. Year or two latter I'd try again, with same results. What was worse than owning it was Junior's...

    boolit opinion

These are my "go to" guys for 9MM and 45 APC bullets. None better in their price range, and only a pinch more than plated bullets. Biggest drawback? They don't make bullets for revolvers!! :(

Dry firing used guns at gun shows/auctions,,,

Ha back in the late 80's there was a gun store in Tucson, Az (Swan&22nd) that had the same policy! Owner was a strange little man, who fallback line was, "bought em in a box-sell em in a box!" All were tie strapped. Was only in his store once not sure if his doors were still open when I left in 93.

How expensive is your carry gun?

Smith J frame New In the box $68. bought it on the lay-a-way plan. (didn't HAVE $68!) Half down rest due in 90days. That was in 1967. Still got it and still carry it. several holsters later. After this long I trust it like a brother.

    Do you open carry?

Retired in 07. Too old for any conflict that open carry MAY present, just the same I don't leave the house without my J frame Smith.

How about the $75 dollar revolver I scored

I'm no help at all! Still I wanted to say that is one very nice pistol even if I never heard of it! Here's hoping it isn't a Saturday Night special.

    Just sold 6 handguns!!

Turned 70 last August. Started out with Smith wheel guns and have added a FEW autos along the way. I'm so old school that after carrying a couple of autos over the years I went back were I started! Smith J frame. Have given several of my Smiths to my son. I've turned him into a wheel gun man and...

    Cleaning Your Revolver...

could not agree more! In the event that a bronze brush shows ANY affect (other than cleaning) on a steel barrel, do not shoot that firearm any longer! My personal advice would be to bury it out in the woods!

    Starting over need your thoughts

I'm sure you don't want to hear this-but start with reliable transportation first. Only then, consider more/different firearms.

What is the best defense cartridge 357 Mag

Hornady 125 XTP and 296, only because I can't find any 2400, CCI Mag primers. Same powder and gold dot 125. coin toss between these two. Don't hunt with a 357 so no input! Note 296 has a very small operating window.

    Taurus 85 shoot

True told, no big rush! there hasn't been ANY 2400 powder for sale in over 2yrs!current manuals show almost TWO (2!) grains less. Cases fell out and primers showed no signs of flatting.

    Shortcut for cleaning cylinders?

I've been told that the worst thing one can do to a handgun is over clean it-ruins accuracy. To that I say total B.S. I do my best to make it "like new clean." My guns, my choice. Zero tolerance for any thing less. I keep the engine bay in my vehicles cleaner than most people keep the outside of...

    Dropping ammo?

I could very well be wearing two left shoes on this one, but didn't that web site Box of Truth soak loaded rounds (primer up) with WD 40 for something like days and still they all fired? Just an old coot that still likes the idea of pulling the trigger again (as on a revolver) compared to that...
