I agree I would use a no-go gauge.Far as I was taught field gauges were for military, if a rifle failed the no-go but passed a field it was still safe to fire. If a rifle fails no-go I correct from there, there is really no use for field gauges outside of a war zone in my opinion.
As far as I know both Matt Hughes & Tim Silvia both have done shots with DPMS. Matt Hughes has also done advertisements for the NRA. Both fighters do support the second amendment and belong to pro-gun groups.
I am glad to see DPMS reaching out into different advertising venues.
I do not think...
On the REM 700 the screws are trigger pull, overtravel & sear engagement.
Here is a link to a site with instructions on adjusting them, a little different than the way I do it but it will work. Clear nail polish will work on the screws after you have them set...
I had a guy call the shop wanting to buy the "over/under" Scout Squad made by Springfield. I told him Springfield Armory did not make an "over/under" gun. He proceeded to tell me I must not know what I was talking about because he was looking at it as we spoke on Springfield's website. He went...
I only bast external parts. I tape off hammers so I don't bead blast the notches.- why spend all that time stoning to get a smooth finish and turn around and bead blast it? I also use rubber plugs in barrels.
"When God created Gunsmiths, he knew he would first have to separate our customers from their sanity."
- seen that next to a pic of a really bad "homebrew gunsmith" job.
Ironic how the ATF expects everyone to be so perfect with their recordkeeping....
After a five month delay in my license, after several repeated phone calls and playing run around on the phone, they "lost" my License in Atlanta, apparently it had gotten shoved aside and forgot about for a few...
I hate polymer,9mm's and flat top slides.
I think heavily engraved guns look tacky, I like subtle highlights.
Even though I do quite a bit of it here at the shop I personally do not like checkering on rifle stocks, but prefer light & simple carvings.
I like the look of a fluted barrel and bolt.
My kids are ages 6,4,3,& 6 months. The older 3 all know the difference between real guns and toy ones. I have my kids treat their airsoft guns as real ones, they are very responsible with them. They have better gun handling safety than some of the customers who come in my shop.
I have a lot of rifles that don't quite fit in the safe. I finally got tired of fighting with them and decided to redo our bedroom. Now I have all the bulky ones hanging on the walls as decoration.:D
I am not real concerned about break-ins/ theft because our bedroom is upstairs and I figure...
I would recommend RCBS. When I began reloading I was on a budget too. I found some used RCBS stuff cheap in a local shop. I needed a few parts for the press & powder throw, so I called RCBS and they sent me the parts free even though I told them I bought it used. They have really great customer...
I still hunt & stalk- depends on what kinda mood I'm in I guess.
I got really ruined on hunting deer with dogs. I have never tried it myself but have got a lot of hunts ruined by others hunting with them.
I do however enjoy rabbit & bird hunting with dogs.
