    Hodgdon International Powder

International is EXCELLENT in 45ACP. Doesn't show up in many manuals, but is roughly equivalent to ADI AS 50N. 5.5 gr under a Missouri Bullet IDP #4 (200 gr LRNFP) gives ~910fps out of my 5" 1911. Burns clean, meters well. Work up your own loads carefully.

    Dillon-Hornady Swap

I started out with a pair of LnL AP's & love them. After about a year, I decided I needed higher throughput for .45ACP, so after due deliberation, I got a Dillon Super 1050. I tried a friends 650, but I liked the LnL AP better. The Super 1050 is in another class - great for high...

    Missouribullet.com Review

Their bullets are great, but their service.... UNBELIEVABLE!!! Two weeks ago I ordered 2,000 IDP#4 (200gr LRNFP) from them about 10 am on Saturday morning. About an hour later I got an email saying that they had shipped. I figured that it was an automated reply. Monday morning a knock on my...

    New Brass Less Accurate?

Belted or not, I would expect better accuracy from once fired. I also shoot 7mm Rem Mag & some of the new Win brass I've gotten needed to be trimmed (after full length sizing) before the 1st time loading.

    COL question.

1.230-1.235 is best for most JHP's I've used. Seems to feed most reliably.

    LNL EZ-Ject Upgrade

Walkalong, Very nice work (and great pics :)). I'm intrigued by your "Lift Plate". I understand from your post that it operates a non-LnL powder measure setup, but I did some searches (OK, I'm not very proficient with the searches) here & couldn't find anything. Could you 'splain a little more...

An announcement from Missouri Bullet Company

Wow! I ordered some IDP#4's last Saturday morning, got an email a couple hours later saying they'd shiped. I thought "Must be an automated response". MONDAY my order was delivered (I had to open it to be sure it was really the order that I placed less than 2 days earlier). Kudos to...

Easy Primer Pocket Cleaning w/ a Dremel

I use an ultrasonic cleaner for all my brass, followed by tumbling with corncob, cut up paper towels, & Nufinish/mineral spirits. Shiny cases inside & out, including the primer pockets. Got a primer pocket cleaner, but I've never used it. :)

    selling reloads?

No - but besides being illegal, you would be opening yourself up to significant liability claims if someone has issues with your ammo (KB, used in a crime, etc.). Don't do it without the proper licenses and insurance. Better yet, just don't do it unless you really want to make it your main business.

    Missouri bullets

I've gone through many thousand of Missouri Bullet Co's 200gr RNFP (45 ACP) with hot loads of Universal & International with NO noticeable smoke (except for where they hit :)). You may be getting significantly incomplete powder burning, which I've noticed causes smoke & very dirty barrel/mag.

any good 900 fps loads for 230g XTP?

5.7-5.8 gr Universal with COL of 1.235 will get you there(885-905 on my chrono from 5" S&W 1911) - BUT it is close to Max, so you need to work it up - no implication that this is safe in your gun - but I use it in mine.

What are your top two handgun powders?

    Universal & International.

    748 for 270

According to Quickload, 748 has lots of reasonable loads, from the lighter (110gr) to the heavier (150gr) bullets. Around 100 fps less than 760, but should be cleaner burning.

    Hornady Lee RCBS frankenstein :)

Looks Great! You might want to try one of these PTX's. Works for most handgun calibers & flares the cases better than the Hornady PTX. Keep up the good work.

    Sinclair Letter Re: Primer Availability

I understand the anger at manufacturers & dealers taking advantage of the surge in demand, by raising prices instead of production - but I don't understand the reloaders who are mad at other reloaders for correctly anticipating the tight supply & ordering enough to get them through the period of...

    Expander Die or PTX

LnLPTX.com is the by far the best choice. Works for 30 cal to 50 cal, gives a much better bell, doesn't work the brass as much, AND it's much cheaper than the Hornady PTX's it replaces! :)

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Well I was moving to be close (across the street) to my grandkids when I decided to start reloading again. The house I bought need significant “upgrades” so no place to set up the reloading equipment. My son (& more importantly – his wife) agreed to let me set up a small, temporary space in...

    Favorite Priming Method

Lee Autoprime II on my Redding Ultramag. I think the Autoprime II is fantastic!

    Brass appearance

I like my reloads to look as good or better than factory, so ... First I deprime (not size). Then ultrasonic cleaner: Suspend 2 Liter Kimax beaker, filled to 1 liter with ~2 tblsp of citric acid powder, 4-5 drops of dish soap, & water. Insert cases (~75 45 ACP’s or ~30 7MM Rem Mag’s). Run...
