I carry a PM9 in jeans all the time without any problems. I have had no problems with the reliability after initial break in, but I am obsessive about cleaning and lubing it. I clean and lube it at least twice a month anymore.

My XD-M has been a fine pistol thus far and so I can recommend one without reservation. Still have a bit less than 1000 rounds through it thus far however.

Without further criteria available I would say that a great choice would be an XD9 in either service or subcompact model (doublestack). The Kahr PM9 or CW9 are also excellent single stack choices.

I really like mine. I've cycled over 400 rounds through it with no problems at all so far! Great little pistol and has become one of my carry pieces alongside my beloved XD45! 16+1 magazine capacity i s also quite nice!

Thanks for the link. Clint also mentions them on guntalk.tv in one of the free videos IIRC. You could be right about the police market. 16+1 is far better than the old XD40 capacity and now can compete with the capacity of the big contract police handguns.

Yes, the XDM is a new platform with new parts including slide and barrel, so if youre inclined to wait a while to see what the reviewers say or to let them work out any bugs then youll want to wait.

My pocket piece is the Kahr PM9. I would not trade it for anything cheaper and have tested it extensively with various types of defensive ammo with good results. I know it will serve me if it needs to and it doesnt print at all in my pockets.

I sometimes wear my XD9 SC as a bug in a galco ankle glove. Super comfortable even after hours of wear but there are certain pants I cannot wear without noticeable printing.
