Side arm plays major role in the battle field if the right gun is selected. For example, Nazis in Germany used Mauser Broomhandle fully auto pistols which equal of having an SMG.
But I think Beretta is fine. Only if it was in .45 due to it size, not that I prefer .45 over 9mm, it would make...
Before WWII most of the world probably used mostly two rilfes for their army. Although these two do not belong from the same time period, but I am curious to know your opinion on which of the following WAS better rifle of its time:
M1 Garand, or
Lee-Enfield
I am impartial because I...
boomer1911a1...
Which make do you recomend in 10mm, other than Glock.
I have alse heard that FBI adopted 10mm and later droped it. Why? I dont know. Any thoughts on that (anybody)?
I am considering to buy at new handgun, which is more powerfull than 9mm. The choices I have in front of me are 10mm and .357 Magnum. But not sure which one is better in terms of power and self defense use. Right now I carry 9mm pistols and .45s, and wanted to add more power to the collection...
Light weight of the new genration pistols definately have advantage over all metal ones.
But I do agree for gun lover your collection is incomplete without at least one all metal pistol, preferably in .45!
What about .357 Magnum?
I have heard lot of handgun hunting with 357. How come people are not voting for it? What sort bullets are out there for 357 which can make it exteremly lethal?
Although, more people are voting for Reverting back to 1911, it is highly improbable; and I doubt single action with be the choice again for any army- let alone the US.
I think HK's USP which being used in Iraq should be the choice.
Ok. I thought he meant .45ACP pistol round.
I wonder why not 500 Magnum is the best option since it is alomost as if having a rifle round with you.
IN .44 Magnum (asking those who have experience) how close you have to get to the grizzley to be effective?
I voted YES, but
I think FAL is in fact used by more armies. However, my vote was based on the fact that even when these armies around the world are using FAL and G3s they also have AKs for the para-military/police special units.
In mid 1980's US army made a shift from model 1911 .45 ACP to M9 Beretta 9mm as its side arm issue. When the army was looking for a new weapon with perhaps more capacity than 1911, two pistols were finally singled out; Beretta and Sig P226. However, Beretta beat Sig simply on cost issue. There...
I am new at sporting with 12g and particulary to the sport of Skeet and Trap, or clay shooting. I want to know whether a Repeater is good for this sport or a nice double barrel?
LAK
I agree with you. I do have Zastava double trigger 7mm Mauser (7x57), but I thought it wont be any good to put it up since not many Americans are familiar with it- they rather tend towards .270.
