My take is that this is a niche market driven more by buying trends
than material costs, wars etc., except prices generally increase.
How do you think all this 'money printing' will effect inflation in the
future, including bullets?
We're not talking about basic needs such as energy...
I have a Rem 700 and a Savage in .243. If you want to go heavy,
100 or over, I'd go with the 1 in 9 or faster. 1 in 10 and slower is
for lighter, small game or shorter range target loads, so I've heard.
Depends on your application.
Pull the bolt and clean from the chamber towards the muzzle. Don't be
afraid to use a brass brush 3 to 5 times after allowing a good bore
cleaner to 'set' for about a half hour, then patch it out somewhat
clean. If you're using corrosive ammo, same deal, except flush the
bore with water...
The question of scale weight vs. volume has been adressed many,
many times in this forum and it always ends up in many, many opinions.
Pure water is easy: 1 gm = 1 cc . Gunpowder? no solution.
Stay under the the published scale weight load, take all special precautions
for gas guns and...
If you can't go for a 1010, then the 505 is your best choice.
After many years with a 505, I finally bought the 1010. The 505
did a fine job but I wanted the range and couterweight system of the
1010. It was well worth it to me.
Note it states beryllium copper. Pure solid copper bullets are OK
and Magtech solid copper bullets are available from Midway for example.
Apparently the purpose is for use on 'lead free' ranges.
I don't know about any state law, but I can envision the EPA jumping on this
and requiring...
At 100 yds I was shooting my reloads (Sierra 85 HPBT, 35gr IMR3031,
3rdX Norma brass) and Federal 100gr Shock. The rifle was a Rem700VLS,
9.125 twist.
I wanted to try the Federal factory 100's for a possible whitetail hunting
round.
My reloads (admitedly target) were either X or called...
Phosphoric acid & sulfuric acid(H2SO4) are the active ingredients in
naval jelly. It seems to me they've much diluted the DURO brand
recently, but it's still pretty corosive.
Try the vinegar, it's worked for me. Use the regular white, balsamic is
messy and expensive and probably doesn't...
IMO the above is very good advice. You need a good data book
and this one is a good one stop source.
A powder trickler is reasonably inexpensive and I personally
wouldn't be without it, but it's not a necessity.
The Lee Pacesetter dies are already about the cheapest you can
buy new and...
