Because they are cheaper then the competition and decisions about things like that are more often made by beancounters then shooters. Jeff Actually the author said that a government ar or m16 was alot cheaper to obtain than the mini 14.

I was reading an article about the mini 14 and the author was a policeman and he said that their police department would rather have a stainless synthetic mini 14 over a government issue ar-15 or M16.

From what i hear is it some sort of tournament.

How do you torque the screws evenly on the mini 14. And what happens if it is not done properly????

Just fixed my mini and was wondering what the best .223 ammo was on the market. I shot some old remington and winchester bullets that I have had for several years one of the brands (either remington or winchester) burns very dirty.

Never fired 22 short or 22long and was wandering if they were any quieter than cci 22lr 36grain ammo. Also i am just curious about how many grains they have in them.

Just wandering cause i have two 10/22s and the older one has some scratches on the reciever and some rust on the barrel and the newer one has some slight scratches onthe barrel.

Does Hornadys new LEVERevolution .30-30 round have less knock down power than a regular flat nosed .30-30 round?

OK wally world has a marlin 30-30 with camo sling brand new for $314 plus taxes is this a good buy or not. Im realy liking the looks of the gun from what I saw on display. Should I go for it or look around some more.

Thanks for your advice. But who makes the best bullets for hunting, I have recently seen some Hornady LEVERevolution Flex Tip bullets in 30-30 and the local wally world has winchester 30-30 bullets and in my mind those would be the best to get for deer hunting but would like to know others opions.

After my last experiment with a mini 14 I am moving on to bigger and better things now my next question which 30-30 is best. Im needing a good deer rifle that is not an auto gun or bolt gun but I can still get a few quick rounds off. Im looking for one used in decent condition no rust on barell...
